I have loved Maria's music for decades, I guess that lets you know how old I am. I have a broad range of favorite artists from Assembly of Dust to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Maria's albums I reach for most of the time. This one did not let me down. When Maria sings the incredible soul touching ballads on this album you can feel it from your heart to your pinky toes! Her voice has been fine tuned with time and experiences and you can hear it in every selection. You want to sway,boogie,shout or cry when listening to this creative venue of perfection. Please, please Maria, don't ever stop.

This is really a stealth CD or it was for me. At first listening it seemed an okay bluegrass album. But repeated listenings cast their spell. What is wonderful about this group is the talent each of the four members brings to the mix. The results are wonderfully eclectic. To say it's like hearing Allison Klauss teamed with a de-politicized Dixie Chicks doesn't really do it justice--but if the idea appeals to you by all means give this a chance.

I really freaked out when I heard the first single. What an amazing track. I went out and bought the CD as soon as it was released. Than as so often happens, you end up regretting it. The first song is still great, but the rest of the album is pretty lame. Is it so hard to write 10 catchy songs with meaningful lyrics? I recently watched her live and it was all fantastic. Nothing like the dreary records she makes. Her energy was fantastic and her band rocked. I'm not sure if it's her producers fault that this latest record falls flat after one song or not.

I haven't bought a record since, until the new Fiona Kernaghan record came out. This woman knows how to write hit after hit. She still amazes me.I think it's on sale at her website but I got it at Tania's concert ... Read More:

The other day, I told my disbelieving, hip-hopped-up teenaged son about how Gordon Lightfoot's sweet and beautiful melodies were actually staples of the radio airwaves in the 1970s. Hard to believe, in this age of good-yet-throbbing rap, hiphop and their offshoots that melodies and acoustic guitar music could sell. Having thrown out my scratched LP a long time ago, I have gone a long time without hearing this music. Lightfoot, as we know, re-recorded many of his classics for this wonderful album. His paeans to railroads and industry may seem jarring in this green age, but they represent a truth about our culture: we are an industrialized people that transformed a wilderness (so-called or no) into something more to our liking.
