Iris Dement is one of the best voices I have ever listened too, so glad I have Amazon to be able to find things that you wouldn't find just anywhere, great condition when received, excellent quality.

Tommy Emmanuel is an amazing musician. His extraordinary technique could potentially overshadow his incredible writing and arranging skills, but with The Mystery, they all fuse into a glorious panorama of sound. The title track is beautiful, and his Grammy winning Gameshow Rag/Cannon Ball Rag is a mind bending cacophony of blazing walking bass lines over chorded and arpeggiated melodies. Lewis and Clark is a song Tommy describes in his live performances as having been inspired by his readings of the journals of the explorers. As you hear a light tapping on the body of the guitar throughout, you can imagine yourself following Sacagawea through the wilderness. Antonella's Birthday displays his excellent ability to make harmonics a key element ... Read More:

John Prine's homespun wisdom continues to pour from his newer work. "Fair & Square" has some gems. "Crazy As a Loon" focuses on dreams always a bit out of reach, "That town will make you crazy; Just give it a little time; You'll be walking 'round in circles down at Hollywood & Vine." Pat McLaughlin co-wrote "Taking a Walk" with John with Phil Parlapiano's accordion giving a homey feel. "Some Humans Ain't Human" rails against hypocrisy, "You might go to church & sit down in a pew; Those humans who ain't human could be sitting right next to you; They talk about your family; They talk about your clothes when they don't know their own a*s from their own elbows." Pat McLaughlin again teams with Prine for "Morning Train," "I saw you ... Read More:

In an age in which tecno-pop or country dominates the airaves...this is a breath of fresh air. A collection of tunes with with a fanciful wit and sense of humor...magnificently performed. "Alice's Restaurant" and "Comin' in to Los Angeles" alone are worth the price of this CD...but there is even more.
Few people remember Arlo Guthrie...but he remains a genius ahead of his time. Well worth checking out and certainly worth the investment.

Hello,
I give my testimony about the concert of Blackmore's Night "Paris Moon" in French, because it is hard, I am not able to give feelings and emotions to the public in English, it will be necessary to use your Français-Anglais translate software.
Regrets.
Bonjour !,
Read More:
Another year, another ho-hum-drum offering from the nominally talented songwriter. As with most releases, the vast bulk bores away with monotonous instrumentation masquerading as minimalism, except this time we witness her interpretations of certain cover songs. When she holds back enough out of respect it often works best, but her choices are bland- Sea of Love almost works before it becomes tediously repetitious like most of 'em. One upside: the closest thing to Cat's puurfect song- an atypically self-less and fleshed out "I Found A Reason".

This is what introduced me to Sufjan (and I have never been the same!). My mother, who is in her mid 50s, loves this set. I secretly look forward to Thanksgiving because I can put the album in my cd player for the next couple of months...and we play it while we're taking our tree down so we can enjoy it one last time before putting Christmas stuff up. It has many traditional Christmas songs, as well as some he has written, and some stellar renditions of old hymns that will be familiar to many. This has to be the best Christmas album ever.

Aw no, not another hippy. Not another counter-culture lifestyle mullah. Ok, it looks that way but first, let's check Nick Drake's hippie-dom credentials;
1, Centre Parting ? - Check.
2, Floral Shirt/Dungarees ? - Check.
3, Being on Island Records ? - Check.
4, Standing in the woods with an acoustic guitar looking meaningful ? - Check.
So, he meets the criteria, but does he have a pleasing, cynic-bashing, soulful music, designed (in a genuinely conspiratorial sense ) to make your wobbling correspondent eat his facetious words with side-orders of tofu and quorn?
Of course he does, 'Bryter Layter' is yet another excellent surprise.
This one is screaming 'winner' before you even get to the music. The sleeve ... Read More:

Im still listening to this but all I can say is wow. It will really put your mind, your thinking in a better place. It will definitley change your life positively if you let it. The author speaks eloquently and simply to get the message across very clearly..all i kept thinking was this should be required education in school. a real gem.
