On a return visit to the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN Nickel Creek
said a fond `farewell, for now.' Tongue in cheek, the theme for the evening
was the ebb and flow of relationships and the strains one can encounter
along the way. The foursome wove in the usual mix of NC favorites
balanced with a number of new(er) songs and Chris Thile solo selections,
easing into the evening almost by rote, but performing with energy and
aplomb! An extended version of Lighthouse Song and Ode to Butterfly,
and a sing-along (la la la) to Scotch and Chocolate made for enjoyable
moments in the early part of the show.

The Concert in Central Park

The music brought me back to when I was young , in the 1960s. What a great selection from their concert in Central Park! I wanted this disc because I saw "The 69th Street Bridge" song sung by Art Garfunkel on U-Tube. All the magic of this duo is here on this CD. Their voices are still "clear and young", not like the albums they put out later in their career. If you want a trip down memory lane, get this CD.

This review was accidentally placed on the wrong CD (Best of Zucchero), but it rightfully goes with this CD (Zucchero and Co.)! (please forgive) (However,The Best of Zucchero is also ONE GREAT CD and is highly recommended !)
Well, if you love the blues, or an updated/different version thereof, and if you love love songs, you will love this CD ! Whether you can speak Italian or not, who cares...they are love songs, make up your own words ! lol I bought this CD just for one song, Cosi Celeste (she's my baby) but have fallen in love with the entire CD...and Zucchero too I might add ! I discovered him through my love of Cheb Mami and wanted She's My Baby done by both of them, hence this CD was purchased. That song is mesmerizing and Cheb's voice ... Read More:

I was listening to Telling Stories earlier today and then went browsing through my Tracy discography and remembered how much I loved the songs on this album, and the album as a whole. Tracy's mixture of seeing the world's sadness in a clear-eyed way and her determination to fight on with relentless optimism nonetheless makes me think of Barack's Presidential candidacy. What a combination. Listen to Crossroads, 100 Hundred Years, Material World, and, especially, All That You Have is Your Soul and be prepared to fight for justice.

This is a relatively awful piece of work. The band mostly plays discordant, nonmelodic music that can possibly only be enjoyed by the sophisticated listeners who like avant garde classical music (i.e., not me). Worst of all is the half-hour, four part monstrosity titled "The Blind Leading the Blind." Chris Thile composed it, and he sings sweetly, but his vocals usually seem to have nothing to do with the backing music. It would be as if you sang "Amazing Grace" while a band played "Devil Went Down To Georgia" at the same time. Even within the instrumental passages, the banjo, fiddle and other instruments are often working against eachother rather than playing together. What's up with the guy that says he bought this as a replacement for his well worn vinyl and it served the purpose? Did he actually listen all those years while the records were spinning? This cd reissue lacks 5 of the songs that were on the original LP that I actually HAVE listened to since 1970. The missing songs are: Green, Green Grass Of Home, Carry It On, Will The Circle Be Unbroken, London/Old Welsh Song and Silver Dagger! Since the reissue clocks in at around 70 minutes Vanguard could have at least given us Silver Dagger and London/Old Welsh Song and still put it all on one cd. If you are looking for a vinyl replacement this is not it. You will sorely miss the absent tracks. I am giving it only 3 stars because the title does not represent the contents. Otherwise ... Songs for Christmas

This is what introduced me to Sufjan (and I have never been the same!). My mother, who is in her mid 50s, loves this set. I secretly look forward to Thanksgiving because I can put the album in my cd player for the next couple of months...and we play it while we're taking our tree down so we can enjoy it one last time before putting Christmas stuff up. It has many traditional Christmas songs, as well as some he has written, and some stellar renditions of old hymns that will be familiar to many. This has to be the best Christmas album ever.

This Blu-Ray disk is unimpressive. The output from my PS3 was similar to that produced by the old DVD that I have of the same movie. There was some improvement in the sound quality, but not significantly. The Blu-Ray disk includes no interesting new features.

If you already own Terminator 2 on DVD, I would not bother purchasing this version.
