The first time i heard The Presets was on a music channel shortly before Beams was released, it was the then current single - Are You The One?
Purchasing their debut album Beams, it delivered exactly what i was looking for... thundering electro mixed with some low-key tracks and instrumentals.

For this reason i rate Beams as being better than Apocalypso. It is more varied - while Apocalypso has it's non-dancey tracks, they don't seem to equal the tracks from Beams. Some could see this as a progression from their first album but i feel like they have lost a bit of the variety they used to have, instead focusing on the more danceable side of their music.

My brother introduce me to this band via the song subculture
and I have never heard real "good music" again.

This is some Bach songs played on a synthesizer back in the 80's. Synthesizers were still in their infancy, so the recording is less than great by today's standards.

I've always thought the Black Eyed Peas were reminiscent of The B-52s. It's not that their sound is so much like theirs' (They sound nothing alike.), it's that they have the same quirky, fun, spirit.
This is the way pop music should be. It's incredibly corny, the lyrics are dumb and shallow, but it just sounds right.
You can tell they don't take themselves too seriously, and that's a good thing... to me at least.

A very boring mix. I sold it after 3 listens. It's the tracks... very uneventful and flat. Vol. 3 was not very good either. Digweed is either way on point or totally off for me. Never inbetween. Transitions 2 is the best by far. Checkout his djmag mix. It's pretty good overall.

Take one pint of porn movie music, a half cup of Burt Bacharach, four tablespoons of Brian Wilson, a quarter stick of seventies easy listening music. Combine in a pot and heat until the easy listening music has melted, stirring occasionally. Add some electronica, a vocoder, some sifted driving background music, and sprinkle with some Henry Mancini. Pour into a cake pan and chill in the fridge at 40-80 beats per minute for one hour, until it sets. Make some frosting with a half cup of John Barry soundtracks and some French flavored melancholy. Top with some Muzak, if desired.

Im just starting to get into electronic music, but i don't know that many bands or albums that really grab me. This, however, is just absolutely earth shatteringly good. Oh man. I recently got a synth and have realized just how hard it is to make this type of stuff. The programing and sound design on this album is perfect. Every synth tone just shakes you to the core. Best songs are High Roller, Vapor Trail, and Trip like I Do.
