This is awesome. I recommend this product. My step-father is 75 years old and he loves Johnny Cash. He nearly cried when I gave it to him; he was so grateful. He played the music and it captured Johnny Cash's earlier days and also later. I enjoyed it also.

This is a good christmas album, if you like country music. I personally like his Honky Tonk CHristmas album better. BUt these are all traditional christmas tunes.

A brilliant album which takes the Dixie Chicks in a slightly new direction musically, appealing not just to Country fans but across the whole spectrum.
All the fans will have a copy already but for anybody new to the band I would just say don't hesitate-this is sensational!
"Not Ready To Make Nice", especially if you know the history,must be one of the most powerful and evocative anthems of the last 30 years, up there with the likes of "Bat Out Of Hell" and "Total Eclipse Of The Heart".
This album marks the Chicks' first serious attempt at songwriting. If they can maintain the standard of "Not Ready..." it would put them on the level of the legendary Jim Steinman.

Gone now are those marvelous guitar solos, charged with energy yet seemingly effortlessly controlled as, for instance, the Basel live version of "Sultans of Swing". But still very apparent in this CD is the ability to tell a story in a song and to express emotion on the guitar. Knopfler has moved on, and although the youthful energy is no longer there, his art has not diminished, and that puts him in another league from any other musician that I know.

The quality of the music is toned down but still very apparent. Some of the story songs are certainly by comparison to his classic stuff a bit quaint - like "The Scaffolder's Wife" and "Secondary Waltz" - and they are not the stuff that invites listening over and over again. This guy is just too much! What a voice, I just really think he is my long lost cousin from the backwoods of Tn. Just a good old boy with simple needs and wants. He will touch your soul with the kindness of a relative that loves you and the world around us. At the same time HC knows how to rock a country tune.
