Gorgeous and refined melodies always come from the pen of Sondre Lerche. His tunes are lush, memorable and singable all combined together. "Stupid Memory" with its hauntingly beautiful pedal steel guitar part is one of the most unique songs I have heard. "Two Way Monologue" and "It's too Late" are also equally memorable, but really they are all gems. This type of refined musicality is rare today, so if you haven't heard him yet, you MUST!

First heard "Always For You" from this album used to beautiful effect in the Japan section of the wonderful surf/travel/art movie "Sipping Jetstreams". It's an incredibly emotional song. Pretty much perfect. Also don't miss the video of this song on YouTube, directed by Aaron Stewart-Ahn, and filmed in San Diego. More brilliance.

Digital Ash is a bittersweet symphony. It is the warbling voice of Conor Oberst lurking somewhere in resignation between hope and despair. It is a dark work of art that plays hide and seek with electronic shadows and acoustic lights. It is, perhaps, his "Sgt Pepper's" and what's scary is that he can do better. And he no doubt will.

I discovered this band by recommendation from a friend on youtube. They are hardly known at all in the U.K. so I was amazed when I heard the incredible sounds on this album. There isn't a bad track on it. The band are brother and sisters from Tyler U.S.A. and they have a small but fiercely loyal fan base which is growing and I can see why. It took no time at all for these songs to become my favourite to listen to. The blending of Sherri and Stacy's voices is really beautiful and from the moment the soaring melody of 'memories' reached my ears I was entranced.
I have rapidly gone from "never heard of them" to "I absolutely love Eisley!" Highly recommended.

Like a breath of fresh air, Ivy's music leaves you feeling light and energized. Being a fan of Astrud Gilberto's, I hear faint similiarities in the music's style: airy and smooth. "Worry About You," "Undertow" and "Edge of the Ocean" are incredible. The music just makes you feel good! Ended up buying all her cd's, but Long Distance, in my opinion, is the absolute best. This music clears out the cobwebs.

I first became an avid fan of Minus the Bear following their brilliant 2005 album Menos el Eso's release. I read a five star review for it in AP magazine wherein they sounded like the departure from the music I typically listen to (mostly post-hardcore) that I'd long been looking for. I bought the CD, cranked the volume up in my car, put the windows down, and prepared myself for what I assumed would be 40 minutes of blasting my new favorite album down the streets from Best Buy to my house with pride. Within a few blocks I turned the volume down and found the dial in my mind for disappointment to be at an all-time high. I am a huge Tilly and the Wall fan. I loved Wild Like Children. Bottoms of Barrels was equally as good as the first album. However with O, Tilly seems to mature and the first taste of this album is not exactly what listeners may expect. The tap is there, but it has a sound that is modified from the other two. However, fans will see O as progress and growth for Tilly.

Pot Kettle Black is by far the most catchy song at first listen. It has made it onto numerous playlists I have made, and even non-Tilly fans love this. Falling Without Knowing has turned into my favorite Tilly song. However, I am not going to lie. I had to listen to it twenty times before I truly loved it. My roommate heard it 100 times before she loved it.

This cd is incredible. I can honestly say that it changed my life and hasn't come out of my cd player since I bought it a year ago. If you are having any kind of internal religious battles, questioning your faith, or just love some great jams, this album is for you. I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially those of you who are fans of the indie rock scene.
