And when I got "Son Of" it is great. Bronx in Blue should be played in every school to educate our children about blues roots music. Of course, the original artists are great , however, I can understand Dion's interpretation and his performance is energizing. This is not 'sit-down'
music! He deserved the Grammy...

This "album" is highly recommended! This is another must-have for any fan of Johnny Winter or blazing guitar playing. The band's music overcomes any shortcomings in the sound quality. (Volume 1 is a better recording, but volume 2 may have more innovative playing.) After all, these are live recordings, from an era before sophisticated remote music equipment. Don't let the warts spoil a fantastic musical experience. Sit back (if you can) and enjoy! The licks aren't as polished (occasionally) as his studio albums, but the improvisation is fantastic. This group puts out an amazing sound for three members.

This album simply cannot be beat. You get some of the greatest songs from one of the all-time great post-war bluesmen, Chester Burnett, a.k.a. Howlin' Wolf. If BB King is a fine wine, Howlin' Wolf is a shot of strong scotch. The CD starts out with Moaning at Midnight, a song which will send chills up your spine the first time you hear it....if anyone can be said to have an inimitable voice, it can be said of Chester Burnett.

Personally, I was not sure I would like Howlin' Wolf as I was just getting into the genre of the blues, and so purchased this album instead of his 3 CD box set. Later, I also added His Best, Volume 2, to my collection. In any case, this album (or the box set), is a must have for anyone who loves the blues. Though ... Read More:

Yes We Can. The Marxist Barack Hussein Obama slogan. Yeah, I checked out her web-site and see that she is left-wing politically active. I purchased Waitress At A Donut Shop years ago and still like it. And I was thinking of getting back into her music. But now - no thank you. I do not patronize any artist that will use the money I spend on them for anti-American left-wing socialist causes. Sorry Maria - but your support for the left makes me say no way to you. In conclusion - I am always amazed at the stupidity of artists that go out of their way to piss off 50 percent of their fan base.

I recently had the privilege to see Michael Burks in concert - it was one of the best shows I have EVER seen. His guitar playing is second to none. I've never heard anyone play better - his technique and tone is fabulous. He played a bunch of songs I had not heard yet - I was expecting most of the songs from "I Smell Smoke". The band was very tight and all were execellent musicians. His first set lasted two hours. I know I was witnessing a blues legend (in my book, he already is one). Now to Iron Man. This may be one of the best blues-rock CDs ever produced. After hearing the CD, I recognize the songs from the first set of his show. I lived the 90's, this is the BEST and FEW ( IF any ), albums made that a FAMILY ( kids and adults ) could listen to. This is the best album of the 90's. BB KING is 10 times better now then in the 50's. And the work he is putting out is 10 times better then any-band on earth. WHY, don't no. The man tries. Other bands and singers......just don't care. You don't have to like BLUES, to love this album. THAT's BB KING's SECRET.
