This album is certainly along extremely similar lines to "Boys and Girls in America" If you liked that album, you will definitely like this one and vice versa. The band continues to rock with some great up-beat and realtively heavy alternative tunes. The lyrics are also have the same intoxicated one-night-stand theme. I was worried that it would sound exactly the same as the last album, but there are enough variations on the theme to keep it interesting while maintaining their unique style throughout. Overall, a great album, but I would start w/ "boys and girls.." if you haven't heard that one first.

My grandson does not just fall asleep when I'm watching him. He is either teething or just plain fussy at times. I had just bought Enya's Paint the Sky with Stars and decided to play it for him. It instantly calms him down as he really pays attention to the music. In a very short time, he is peacefully sleeping. I've tried other music, including classical. It just does not relax him. I absolutely love her music! When I'm trying to do homework, I used to listen to classical music because there were no words to interfere with my concentration. When I listen to Enya, I don't have that problem. I'm totaly focused and able to accomplish a lot!

I am obsessed with this albumn, I listen to it every day. The lyrics to each song are really meaningful and the vocals, music, etc. fit it perfectly. If you've heard the single "Fall for You" and enjoyed it, this entire CD is similar to that single. You can also keep it on low at work all day!

The sound is very 60's with some great covers!! Its different than what's coming out these days, but different, in a good way. I love it.

Evanescence features a wonderful female singer named Amy Lee. Amy has a very good, deep sounding voice. You won't have the generic female singer that the mainstream is used to. The music in this one has a good amount of variety to it. Sometimes you will hear rock music, electronica, or some weird other sounds. One problem I have with this one though is that Amy Lee sounds the same in most of the sounds. Still, she sounds good, just the same.

The obvious audience for this one is someone who feels weak and wants to rise up. Not in a political way, but in a more emotional way. Soem of the lyrics are based around females more then males, but you can deal with it.

"The Perfect Boy" is another really good one. I can hear a bit of "Strange Attraction" and "Mint Car" in this one and that's cool because those were among my favorites from Wild Mood Swings. Also hear a bit of "alt.end" in there on second listen. Sorry, I've listened to them so much the last 20 years I can't help but hear things that remind me of other songs I like. The b-side "Without You" is one of their best strummy, ballad-type songs. Robert really knocks it out of the park with some great soaring vocals. If you've ever severed any ties with any person, group, or institution this one strikes a chord. For two years I had only albums "Smash" through "Splinter" and thought that was all that Offspring encompassed. With the release of this new album, I am delighted to be proven wrong.

There has been much improvement all around. Dexter's singing is better and brighter, and he throws away fewer of the words (something he has done on earlier albums). It's well-arranged and organized, the lyrics are well-planned, and there is so much joy in this album. In their five-year absence from the studio, the talent has not worn away. Gone are the cynic tones of "Americana"; the dark lyrics of "Conspiracy"; the experimental colouring of "Splinter". It is not another "Ixnay" or "Smash", but it is nonetheless enjoyable for that.
