I rarely give ANY product this kind of review - but Amnesiac is one of those rare CD's that can be listened to in entirity. Moody, extremely layered, sad, whistful.

Listen to it once and you will be hooked.

Radiohead-Hail To The Thief ****

What strikes me about Hail To The Thief is that it is Radioheads boldest statement, and yet probably the bands all around weakest album. Where as every other album the band released would grow in a new direction, Hail just simply reverted back to Kid A and really only slowed it down. You find basically the same themes through here as you did there as well. So why is this so bold? Well we always expect Radiohead to go somewhere new and they deliberately didn't. But what is this albums greatest merritt is also it's downfall. There is nothing new here which feels like we have already heard this album before. Juliana Hatfield's latest album 'How to Walk Away' mostly deals with bad occurances, but without brash lyrics and pissed-off overtones. It's like, when you're closer to middle age and something happens that, when you were younger, would have caused a burst of outloud anger and obvious resentment. Instead, you just chalk it down to 'whatever' and/or 'I don't have time for this' and simply walk away. The simplest of things is all that's really required. To me, her music in this album portrays that maturity. Of course it's Juliana Hatfield, so the writing is top-notch and some songs radio perfect.

Highly recommended

Achtung Baby

Out of my whole U2 collection, I'd have to say this is my favorite one. U2 is a band that comes out with albums that never sound the same, but you know it's them. I love this album because it was an area U2 never explored as far as modern rock. Just like Bono said on the "Achtung Baby" Video, it's the most serious album with the least sounding title.
I love the whole allum, but "One", "The Fly", and "Ultra Violet" are my favorite tracks. Just like any other album they came out with, all 4 band members shine through with they're playing skills. I'm so glad the always do "One" when in concert. This is A MUST album to get for any U2 fan. I love this album so much, I can never get sick of it!

I can't believe it's taken me 12 years before writing this review. What I am glad of though is that I didn't write this within a year of buying "Evil Empire"; when this came out in 1996, I - like many - was expecting a bombastic array of accessible riffage, heavy ranting and slick production similar to RATM's debut. What we got however was a grimy, dark and sinister effort that better showed off RATM's hiphop and punk influences. This was a shock. And it probably explains why it took me a while to get into. Now however, I listen to this album with a huge amount of satisfaction. Everything about it is great: Zack de la Rocha's voice is so aggressive, so vitriolic and just so downright convincing; the guitars and bass (oh, the BASS!) tap very different frequencies so each is heard equally, ... Simply one of the best CD's I've ever owned. Just a delight from start to finish, Feist's vocals are gorgeous without being sing songy. This album remains in a very small list of my all time favorite albums. Great songwriting and lovely melodies. Just perfect!!
