Too me probaly the greatest punk album thats ever been made now and than. The Sex Pistols were just one of those bands you dont come by too often and still dont come by bands like The Ramones and The Clash were punk too but The Sex Pistols took it a step further and were even arrested were playing the song, "God Save The Queen", in front of the queen of england. From the opening track, "Holidays in the Sun", to the ending track, "EMI", the album is non stop 3 minute fast punk songs and probaly the best song on the whole album, "Anarchy In The UK". Unfortunatly though this is the only studio Sex Pistols album that has ever been made partly due to the fact of tensions between the band and the death of the bands bass player Sid Vicious but The ... This is a very good documentary; lots of great footage. It really seems like a fresh retrospective. Some of the other stuff that's come out between 'Westway' and this, seems to have less to offer than 'This is video Clash', the late '80's quickie compilation. GREAT STUFF, from the beginning to the final incarnation of the band (i think the last album was a little better than the reviews, but not as good as what Husker Du was generating at that time). WHAT A BAND! I think Mick Jones had the right idea musically, during the Combat Rock period. Too bad we couldn't see a continuation of that.

There are two glaringly obvious affectations to blame for the artistic failure of U2's 'the Joshua Tree'. One is the record company, who MUST for the sake of their shareholders, send young provincial bands to the colonies, and the huge rewards from the eager masses there. The other is the Clash.
'London Calling' sent U2, and any number of other groups from the UK and beyond, scuttling for their cowboy boots and neckerchiefs in the mistaken belief that they-could-take-on-American-influences-and-still-be-interesting....not so.
If you give young people in their 20's, lots of cash and put them on a plane to the heart of consumerism, they're gonna imbibe...and how. Within weeks they're adopting that ridiculous gait all rock groups must ... Read More:

This was great when it was released in the 80's and continues to hold up today. This "low tech" concert manages to entertain with the simplist of props. If you have teenage/college kids that enjoy music, do yourself and them a favor and share this with them. Now my kids...(and their freinds) can't get enough of the Talking Heads.

I've lived in Texas and Louisiana and worked the off shore oil scene back in the day. Fabulous new Texas roadhouse music. Real lyrics, great rhythm...where's this band been hiding? Give me a big old Coonass smile.

I just bought this reissues LP this weekend! and having seen only one review of the vinyl reprint i thought i would add my 2 cents. 1st the packaging is great these LP make CDs look boring, nice gate fold and you can see all the art work that is so small it the cd booklet and now it is huge and awesome. 2ed the sound That is my we are buying all this s@#t again right! Sounds great the highs are higher and the lowers are lower just like my life j/k! 3ed it is just a cool thing the have and revisit. I think the whole ritual of putting the record on sitting down and listening to the recording instead of driving or washing dishes or working out or what ever. So in summation i would give the music 5 stars the vinyl 4 stars so there you have it! ... Read More:

I am frequently a late comer to what is hip and cool. I had listened to Radiohead early on (Kid A, the Bends, Pablo Honey) but just didn't get it. In a twisted way I returned to Radiohead after my new found appreciation of groups like Coldplay, Muse, Keane, and the like. This Best of CD may not be all their best music but it is extensive and awesome. I couldn't stop listening to disc one with many of the familiar tunes but eventually found may way into disc two which is just as excellent in its own right. Songs like Let Down and Planet Telex really hold their own, even if they may not be their better known material.
Listening to Radiohead is a unique experience, and the critics were right about this group early on. I remember hearing an ... Read More:

Noisy britpop from the 90s, an alternative to US Grunge from the same era, ill-bred children and, of course, a very british Beatlesque touch contribute to build up a good modern rock album supposedly meant to last and remain as one of the classics forever along with releases from Rolling Stones, Beatles or Led Zeppelin. Actually it includes the so-called 'best rock and roll song of all times' (based on a local radio survey), "Wonderwall", which just makes it worth listening.
Trivia: even Coca Cola did not wanted to detach from the album's success by suing the band for plagiarism, claiming that one of the songs was very similar to a famous 80's jingle they had... which was it?
A bit overexposed it still represents the best of Oasis ... Read More:
