It took me being an idiot, and selling this CD some years ago, and then reclaiming it again just tonight in order to realize what a beautiful collection of music this really is. Seriously, this set shows off the amazing scope and depth that John Williams has, while it doesn't have every last one of his amazing compositions, it still shows what a fine composer Mr. Williams really is.

I will start off by stating that I started yearning for the set again after I saw a preview of E.T. being broadcast on TV and heard the sweeping "Flying Theme" playing in the background. This is THE best of Mr. Horner's score! He captured the heart and soul of the film and what the film was about. It was not a usual epic film score. It was a score written and based upon the heart of William Wallace and the courage of the Scots. There was not a track I didn't like. Every minute of it is just enrapturing and even addictive.
Even if you don't like Mr. Horner, this score can be enjoyed. It is so original and inspirational. You MUST own this music!

My wife absolutely loves the movie and has been dying to get the soundtrack. I gave it to her for Valentine's Day and she just started crying. Needless to say I scored some serious relationship points. This soundtrack has a good mix of slow and fast music, and it is very romantic, especially if you've seen the movie. We like to turn the lights down low and play it through the home theater after the kids are in bed. Best $13 I've ever spent.

A very emotional film. A must see for all Cubans. It will touch your heart. If you are interested in Cuban history and the Cuban revolution, you will enjoy this film. The music is great.

I love this movie as an all time favorite and I loved the music, so I was so excited to get the soundtrack. This is very classical and period music, yet you will definitely be able to recognize it as the movie you loved so much. Also, very soothing.

I absolutely love this musical more than life itself! I hope to some day fulfill my dream of seeing it on Broadway, but it would of course have to come back, but I'd settle for London or Shea's (my local theater) if it doesn't happen.
The first Les Mis song I ever heard came from this CD, "Master of House" which is one of my favorites. Alun Armstrong sings the best version of it on here. I also love Colm Wilkinson, who will always be THE original Valjean. Michael Ball and Judy Juhn do an awesome duet of "A Heart Full of Love," and he does an amazing solo of "Empty Chairs." And Lea Salonga last but not least, is great as Eponine. Her and Ball do a very uplifting, but very sad version of "A Little Fall of Rain," the second Les Mis song I ever ... Read More:

So disappointed, they didn't have the song Just for Now or any other captivating songs from the movie. It's very deceptive. I should have read the reviews before buying but this was the first time I had this happen.... BE on guard!!! You won't get the actual SOUNDTRACK, just background music from the movie. There were songs that Cameron Diaz sang along with and then the song that Kate Winnslet (sp) woke up to, but you won't find it on this CD. You also won't find the song "Darling You send me" they play at the end of the movie. I love the melody from the music as it transforms you to that place of love but this CD will leave you very annoyed!
