Sometimes it's difficult to rate a genre of music that I don't normally listen to. But be rest assured, the quality of musicianship on Strange Weirdos is unmatched. I heard "You Can't Fail Me Now" on the radio before I even saw Knocked Up. For me, this is the flagship piece in the album. Patrick Warren's subtle string arrangement at the bridge is so gorgeous that I rushed out to buy the cd. Now "gorgeous string arrangement" is a phrase that is oft abused, but you won't make that mistake here: the stateliness of the quartet is the core of that which makes perfect unions.
Though "Ypsilanti" (an instrumental) and Strange Weirdos incorporate the same string quartet and similar arrangements, "You Can't Fail Me Now" is the track ... Read More:

Don't waste your money on the soundtrack for Halo 3. All the good stuff is on the first two soundtracks. There's nothing here that makes me want to play a track over and over and over like "Brothers in Arms" from Halo 1 or "Unyielding" from Halo 2.
Halo 3 is a remix of the good parts of the first two and a lot of it sounds like its done with a synthesizer; makes for good filler.
There doesn't seem to be a connection between the tracks of this soundtrack and the game (which I really like); just random bits of different tracks all strung together. For example, when I hear the track "Lament for Private Jenkins", I can picture the Master Chief catching Jenkins body when it falls thru the door. Nothing like that here. ... Read More:

The movie looked promising on every level. Seeing it in a theater, it fell extremely short of my expectations. Good actors who for some reason delivered lines in this movie like they were reading it off a cue card. And played it so "stereotypical" of the "character type" they were portraying it was sometimes "smirk inducing".
That said...in the end it is kinda fun to watch. I bought this soundrack 'cause it is a great sample of some great rock acts of the 80's (without sounding 80's). You've got the "voice" of Contact (who had a hit with "10.9.8"), Marylin Martin (w/ Stevie Nicks doing some of the best b/g vocals on her own song), Maria Mckee doing Tom Petty "justice" yet again.
If you can it's probably best to buy ... Read More:

from: Sleep Solutions by Roberta Shapiro
Release Date November 30, 2006
Roberta, I really love it. Even when my three dogs are fighting on my bed, I put on your c d and they are asleep with in three minutes and I follow right behind them. Your voice is so relaxing and your music is always beautiful. I have given away ten of these already to my closest friends and they all feel the way I do. I hope someday to stay awake until the end so I can hear the whole thing, but every night I drift right off to beautiful dreams. Thank you for some of the best nights of sleep I have ever had.

When I first saw this movie I was 9. It was so incredible. Now I'm 19 and the movie is still my number 1. I watch it all the time. I only recently bought the soundtrack, but I love it so much! Its beautiful and enchanting. My favorite songs are "In the Dark of the Night" and "A Rumor in St. Petersburg". Absolutely fantastic. 5 stars.

Richard Burton, Julie Andrews and Robert Goulet. How could you go wrong? They really don't make them like this anymore. Jay Lerner's fantastic songs and a wonderful treatment of T.H. White's "The Once and Future King", one of the greatest novels of the twentieth century, this cd is a must have for any fan of great musicals and probably all of us baby-boomers who still remember our country's own Camelot.
"Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief shining moment That was known as Camelot."

I was lucky enough to actually safari in Africa in the late 80's. With this CD I can close my eyes and remember the wonderful journey. Of course the movie provided visual benefits as well.

This soundtrack to I'm Not There is absolutely packed with music, featuring two CDs that are each 80 minutes long. I don't recall hearing many of these recordings in the movie itself, but that's not uncommon for a soundtrack these days. The songs were all written by Bob Dylan, as you are probably already aware. Most of these cover songs are quite good, although some are better than others. Of course, it's all a matter of personal preference, my favorites may be different from your favorites. Fittingly, Dylan himself gets the final word, with the previously unreleased title song (it was recorded at The Basement Tapes sessions). This is a fine collection of Dylan songs.
