Don't waste your money on this mess. Perhaps someday someone will make a version of 'A Little Princess' that's worthy of the name, but this isn't it. The only resemblance between this production and Frances Hodgson Burnett's 'A Little Princess', aside from the title, is the fact that it has characters named Sara, Ram Das, and Miss Minchin, and the only reason this gets any star at all is because Amazon will not let me give it no stars. All the artful camera work in the world cannot make this dreck into proper telling of 'A Little Princess'. It hasn't the magic.

My sister had this cd for her own baby and my daughter went right to sleep when she heard it. i had to get home and purchase it. also got the Cure one which is great. i can sit and rock baby and STILL listen to my favorite songs! i hum a long so its doubly relaxing for her. These cd's are so clever and such a great idea. A 'must purchase' for shower gift.

I first saw that movie when I was in elementary school and loved it ever since. I have seen this movie so many times now and I can watch it over and over again... The music is amazing (by the Sherman Brothers, who also wrote "Mary Poppins" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang"). The story is so detailed and realistic for those times and full of humor and subtle irony. Everytime I watch that movie I find another detail that makes me smile - it is definitely not only for children, but also for adults with a big heart. It was produced with a love to detail. The costumes and the scenery are truly magical and splendid. There are no words to really describe the beauty of them. The dancing scenes are wonderfully choreographed and danced. I used to watch this when I was a kid, and it is a blast to watch it again. Not super by today's standards, very campy and stuff, but still fun to watch, especially for fans of the series. And the video/audio quality are excellent, far above what I expected.
