After I bought the Ladies in Lavender I had to buy Johuas Bell music.
I heard him play the Brahms violinconcert april 2003 and became a fan.
One period in my life I almost hated violin music maybe because I was
playing the piano with my brother violin. Later I heard the Busch quartet
play , and later I heard Isac Stern and Menuhin play in concerts.
The music Johua plays in wonderful and he plays beutifully.

If you a piano student, your teacher will probably assign you at least half of the compositions in this CD. You need to hear how they should be played. This is a wonderful CD to use to help you learn the pieces. These piano selections are not the "World's Favorites" for nothing - they are memorable and enjoyable for young and old alike. I love this CD.

This is tripe. Do you love Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Bruckner, Mahler, Debussy, Ravel, Prokofiev, Stravinsky, and Vaughan Williams? Well, you won't love this garbage. It is MUCH better to love the Beatles and Pink Floyd for what they honestly are. They are at least sincere and original art, in their sphere. This is a fraud on every level. It is properly used for backing tracks on bad movies and pop albums. It is music for callow youths who know nothing about aforementioned composers or music, but want to pretend they are "cerebral" and "deep". It is "classical" music for people who want to translate the machinations of the pop world into a score for a real paid orchestra. Mr. Holland's "Opus" rates as high. I'm sure orchestras love ... This is some Bach songs played on a synthesizer back in the 80's. Synthesizers were still in their infancy, so the recording is less than great by today's standards.

A nice collection of Mozart arranged and performed as the title says - to relax.
It is not a definative collection as others have mentioned, but it the melodies are familiar and are things you know.
This leads to a good CD to put on, sit down and listen to with your eyes closed. One of the things I have been trying to do to help relax and calm down and I am very happy I bought this. I will be buying other titles in this series.

This is a fine reading of the lesser-appreciated Brandenburgs. While the 3rd is the "greatest hit" of the six, I think these last two are also beautiful in their own way.
Marriner sure has the Touch, and despite this performance being on modern and not period instruments, I prefer it to some of the more "faithful" BCs I've heard, mainly due to the heartfelt perfection of the playing. Bach was all about perfection, on many levels, and these guys bring home how incredibly layered and harmonically rich these pieces are.
Hard to pass up for five bucks.

There are just as many great sing alongs in this CD as in the first. Most of the tracks are very singable (the Brahms piece is difficult). Lots of fun and plenty of goofy lyrics.

This is a bargain for the price, with GREAT sound quality! Warm, but also clear. The perfomances are great, specially the mazurkas and waltzes and sonatas. I thought the noctures where played a bit to "straight", but it depends what one compares it to. I prefer Cortot for about all the Chopin I've heard of him before 1934 (Although I like Rubinsteins sonata better) and brazilian G. Novaes for the nocturnes.

I thoroughly enjoy these CDs. I tried collecting Mozart in portions over time, but his repertoire is just way too large to manage for amateurs like me. It is well worth buying the whole collection in one purchase.
