I really wanted to like this CD because I'm a big fan of Robbie Robertson but I just couldn't. The music is too dated. I bought this CD because I had a flash of nostalgia for The Band. Big mistake. I doubt that I'll ever listen to this again. It's not that it's horrible. It's just really dated, in a bad way, not a good "evokes the era" sort of way. Spend your money on something else, like Rocky Votolato or Amos Lee.

I ordered this item for my sister who just loves the Forrest Gump movie. She was looking around for the soundtrack because she enjoyed the music in the movie alot. She was very pleased with this item.

The Weepies follow "Say I Am You" (one of the best albums of 2006) with "Hideaway." It continues the duo's trademark sound--hushed, ethereal vocals, lyrics that use metaphor and analogy to reference a wide range of topics, and understated, gorgeous production. The music is acoustic-based with deft touches of electric guitar scattered throughout. There's even a surprising little pop-rocker at the end. "All This Beauty" is a great kicker to a polished, heartfelt project. If you like groups like the Kennedys, you will swoon for the Weepies and "Hideaway."

As usual, the Great TALENT of the "BEATLES" is very evident in this CD,as well as all the other anthologies. It is especially interesting because there are unreleased versions of their hits while the FAB 4 were rehearsing during their recording sessions.

I recently heard an events promotor interviewed. When asked why we keep bringing song artists from the 60's & 70"s back he said - "because these people can still fill the big venues - yes, there are younger artists producing good songs but not enough producing a whole lot of good songs".
Some how Cat Stevens was not part of my adolescence [yes that is true] so when I saw a documentary on Josuf islam in which some of his music was featured the tunes were appealing and the lyrics interested me. I bought two albums - one of which is Teaser and the Firecat.
