The product, a music cd was a very fair price and came quite quickly. However, the shipping costs were almost double the cost of the cd, making this not a good buy. How much does it really cost to mail one CD to an address in the USA? They have to be kidding.

In reviewing Bob Dylan's 1965 classic album Bringing All Back Home (you know, the one where he went electric) I noted that it seemed hard to believe now that both as to the performer as well as to what was being attempted that anyone would take umbrage at a performer using an electric guitar to tell a folk story (or any story for that matter). I further pointed out that it is not necessary to go into all the details of what or what did not happen with Pete Seeger at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965 to know that one should be glad, glad as hell, that Bob Dylan continued to listen to his own drummer and carry on a career based on electronic music.

I believe I first heard The Weepies on TV late last year and eventually managed to track down more of their music. Every song on the track has become a favorite. Even ones I didn't appreciate at first ended up getting stuck in my head and after humming them for hours I'd remember where I'd heard it and run back to listen to them again and again.

My favorite off of the album is probably "Gotta Have You"...it's very catchy and has a unique beat and the lyrics are beautiful.

"World Spins Madly On" is another great track, albeit slightly depressing.

There really isn't a bad song on this album, I love each and every one of them and I think they are all of a similar quality and style. Some people may prefer more variation on ... Read More:

I loved the movie and my basset hound sang along to a few of the tunes in the movie; however she (the basset) did not respond at all to the music from the sound track, and this was a little disappointing, but I liked it a great deal.

Thanks to Amazon I listened to snippets of this album and recognized a voice very much akin to Alison Krauss and also a tremendous mandolin player. Then I dug deeper and found out many members of Union Station were guests on and produced the album. And then, I discovered that talent was still in her teens and I was blown away! Every song is a keeper and to think this young lady will only get better as time goes by is just down right scary!!! This CD has none of that first-timer feel to it at all. Damien Rice set the bar ridiculously high with his 2004 release, O. On his debut, there was incredible production and amazing sounds coming out of every track. While the follow up to O, also a single character title, 9, is a solid album, fans expecting the artistic saturation found on O will be somewhat disappointed. While Damien Rice's song writing is solid, his voice is great and the lyrics provide good images, we don't get anything like the backwards singing on "Cold Water," or the clinking glasses on the drunken "Cheers, Darling," or the raw emotion so direly expressed in "The Blower's Daughter" or "I Remember" or the Sweedish opera singing on "Eskimo." I have to say I'm really surprised that nobody else has complained about this but I felt the camera cuts were OBNOXIOUSLY frequent to the point that I honestly can't watch the dvd. It sounds ridiculous but I actually recorded the audio into my computer so I can just listen to the concert. The camera cuts to a different performer an average of once every bar through the entire concert and it is common as the intensity picks up for the camera to cut as frequently as every beat. We have to be talking thousands of cuts over the length of the performance. Do we need this? I think the average jazz fan has a longer attention span than most; why do producers always feel the need to "inject" excitement into live music dvd's when the good performers (like these guys) can do that themselves? ... I do love a lot of his songs, not particularily himself so much, sorry for that fact, but!!: I do love" I don't want to talk about it" Great song, great feeling, arrangement, lyrics and melody...all goes so well...thats worth buying it...and for the other hits of course too. I mean, after all it is Rod Stewart and deserves a Greatest Hits...Part 2...not many Artiusts can say that about themselves!
