Folk, jazz, Spanish-favor, classical--sorry, no rap. My twenty-something son gave me this for Father's Day early. I bought a copy for my seventy-something father in celebration of the same holiday. We all love it. See Andy McKee on YouTube.

It seems very rare over the past few decades that any group actually is able to follow-up a great album with another great one, but DTB has pulled it off. Not to mention that they are making music in a niche that they more or less created.
I've listened to the album a few times already and I'm still not sure I'm ready to say that it's better than the last album, Life's a Ride, but I have a feeling I will eventually rank this album higher. This album is produced almost to perfection - there are a few background vocals I could do without but no major complaints there. With 13 songs on the album I can honestly say there is not a bad song on the album (Jeb pushes the limits with his songwriting, and even with his singing on "Blue Eyes" ... Read More:

Song from a Secret Garden is SO haunting! A few months ago I had it going through my head, but could not remember who performed it until I remembered TONIGHT! Then I had to turn the house upside down to find the CD! FOUND it! This group is so mesmerizing.

I know that these guys were one of the indie darlings in 2007 but I didn't get into this album until 2008. However, I am glad that I did. The album is a great mix of songs of varying tempos, and the 9 songs on it feel like just the right amount.
The first two songs are really great up-tempo numbers, with the second song, Unless Its Kicks, the real highlight of the album. The lyrics are fantastic, with each song telling a unique story and repetitive lyrics and choruses typically avoided. The writing is very clever this way as it really sounds more like stories rather than the typical verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus routine.
The slower songs are great as well. Savannah Smiles is a song about reading his daughter's diary ... Read More:

I heard one of there songs, "The World Spins Madly On", on the TV show The Riches. I actually thought that it was a new Paul Simon song when I heard it. I was taken by the song so much that I couldn't wait for the repeat of that episode so I could find out who sang it. Turns out it was the Weepies. I had never heard of them until then. After listening to the CD for a while, I put it away for a few months, then when I was watching TV I heard one of their songs as a background for a commercial. I started craving their music again, like so many of my favorite musical artists. I am actually happy that I bought this CD and can't wait to buy more of them.

This is a great concert DVD. I own MANY, and this is my 2nd favorite only after Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds Live at Radio City... (doesn't get any better than that for me).
If you love acoustic music a la Damien Rice, or loved the music from the movie "Once" but don't want to watch the whole thing again just for the songs (as was my case), then get THIS CONCERT! Worth every penny.

Desire came out twelve days shy of a year after "Blood on the Tracks," but it wasn't a whole year without a new Dylan record, because The Basement Tapes came between them, though it was recorded something like eight years earlier. "Desire" is sort of new sound for Dylan as he is performing with the Rolling Thunder Review band and Scarlett Rivera's violin adds a haunting sound throughout.
"Hurricane" the lead off song marks kind of a return of Dylan to social commentary. Dylan did the song, because he was convinced of Mr. Carter's innocence. The song was first recorded with Emmylou Harris doing the vocal with Dylan, like she does on the other songs on the record, but apparently Colombia thought the song was libelous, so Dylan re-recorded it with Ronnie Blakely. ...
