Man I can't believe it took so a long time to buy this classic album! Cypress Hill are by far one of the best Latino rap groups to walk the face of the earth. This stuff was hot as ever back in the day, and nearly 15 years later people still ride to it. This album gives a good look at the Latino and Hispanic/gangsta lifestyle. Here's my track guide:
1. I Wanna Get H*gh / 10/10, this is real dope material that isn't made anymore! The horn at the beginning is simply entrancing.
2. I Ain't Goin' Out Like That / 8/10, this is a pretty cool rap, it's catchy and has smart lyrics. Cypress have got to be geniuses if sample the lengendary Black Sabbath
3. Insane In The Brain / 10/10, legendary material that make you want to get ... Read More:

Out of the five original albums, the golden years, this stands as being their second worst. It's got plenty of cool tracks, but some of the tracks aren't great either. There isn't many horrible songs on this album besides Sabatoge (which sucks), but songs like Do It, The Scoop (?), Ricky's Theme, these songs just aren't up to snuff, and forgettable. I won't waste your time explaining ever single ________ detail or how they changed their sound They definitely, however, added more though, they tried new things and made plenty of cool experiments and new styles. Just trust me on that one. Track listing time (______!).
1.Sure Shot-They don't fail with this one. Great flute sample, and the beat is great and heavy.
2.Tough Guy-Nice break, ... Read More:

First of all I am a Juggalo, Second of all do not listen to the haters. ICP is REAL rap, they just use differant lyrics and beats for their music. There is also more to ICP than just funny lyrics and rapping about killing people, behind those lyrics is a message, if you figure it out chances are you will end up becomming a Juggalo, if not then you will just like them. I also read the one guy's comment about how ICP and juggalos "think" they are hard. This man is brainwashed, mainstream rappers only talk about how hard they are, ICP does not rap about how hard they are. Since he was too used to listening to mainstream and does not have an open mind, he see's anything as somebody trying to be hard. ICP They are completely original and if you think "they are gay" and ... Read More:

I got to hear this entire album played today on an online broadcast for a small radio station. Coming in in the middle, like the first listeners to Orson Welles's "War of the World's" broadcast, I must confess that I initially thought the fictional story of "Sister Fatima" -- over-layed like a local DJ's mix of news onto the album tracks -- to be a genuine retrospective of some real events -- that's how accurate the story was to similar aspects of our real-life world, at least in parts. (I caught on when the Governor who backed her execution in the storyline actually cared when he got caught).
What made this album move me was the accuracy in the portrayal of voices. The Sister Fatima's bravery reminded me so much of people I've admired -- friends and icons ... Read More:

I'm going to take a different approach to reviewing albums on Amazon. Instead of going in depth on each album and describe each album in detail, i'm going to simply rate each album with how many stars I feel each album is worth based on the below criteria. I hope this helps you make a better decision on purchasing this album with a simple individual rating. If it doesn't help read another review.
5 stars- Classic, Album goes beyond description, Perfect in every way, Could remind you of a certain time or place, Lifetime replay value.
4.5 stars- Near Classic, Incredible album, Maybe only one song that is skippable or just overall doesn't quite deserve classic status. High replay value.
4.0 stars- Awesome album. Very solid album from start to finish. Met every ... Read More:

A bit more of a stereotypical rap album than the group's later work, which is probably why I didn't like it much the first time I heard it. I'm not a fan of stereotypical G-Funk, see, and that's all I heard in it the first time through. God, was I wrong. It's deeper than that, even though it's not fully immersed in the "alternative" thing yet. So even the more "playa-business" oriented tracks - "Ain't No Thang," "Myintrotoletuknow," "Call of Da Wild," "Claimin' True," "Crumblin' Erb," "D.E.E.P." - has OutKast's trademark dark, quirky, layered production. And the classic songs kick as much butt as the best of OutKast's later albums do. The title track is a condensed Isaac Hayes epic with hip-hop beats; breakthrough hit "Player's Ball" has a great rolling beat, charismatic rapping, and a ... Read More:

Anyone who disagrees with my claim (the title of this review) obviosly hasn't heard this. My first introduction to Pete Rock was from the production he lent to other MC's (most notably; solo Wu Tang artist's, Rakim, Biggie, and Nas.) As time went on, I began to hear more, and more of his work. Then I finally heard the song T.R.O.Y off this album, and that was enough for me to order this. I'll never forget the day this showed up in the mail. I expected it to be good, but I wasn't prepared for HOW good. The first time I get an album I always listen to it all the way through, but usually I'll be tempted to skip atleast a few tracks, cause let's face it - very few albums are FLAWLESS. I was more and more amazed throughout this album as to how strong it is. Track for track, pound for pound ... Read More:

Wow is all i could say when listening to this album. Im sad to say my first Common album was Finding Forever, so when i heard this i was shocked to hear the subject matter on depth on this album. A Song For Assata well bring a tear to your eye if you really listen to this song, its quit moving. I heard it a few times not really listening, but i was reading the lyrics and that's when it really hit me. I wish Common would go back to this type of hip hop. The light is a nice laid back song, i love to play this and the ladies love it as well (just the mature ones). With Jay Dee on the board you can never go wrong. Cold Blooded it a personal favorite and who could forget The 6th Sense, which is the reason i picked this album up. Payback Is A Grandmother is a dope story telling track, i like it because ...
