Solid EP. I personally like it more than their two full albums. It's simple, but thats what Blue Scholars does well. Geo has many a good rhyme and Sabzi's beats are always true

... Oh I know why ... another record company trying to pull in as much profit by marketing something very unnecesssary.
I love The Fugees, they're hands down one of my favorite Hip Hop groups of all time, but this compilation I don't love so much. For starters, they've only released two albums, one of which provides over half of this track list. All three members have released solo albums, so I don't understand why there's no solo material on this. Being that all of their solo joints are on the same record label as their group albums, and the same that made this dry compilation. But I will give this 3 stars, because the songs on here are good (they could have added plenty more though)

Slug has a fantastic swagger mixing pain and jokes he is a great rapper and manages to lay phenomenal rhymes over every song.
And when matched with Ant's beats, consisting of strange rare samples, they create one of the most unique and most talented rappers in hip hop major and underground.

This is perhaps one of the best albums I have ever heard. From song to song, I was left waiting for when he would let up, only to find another great track. He simply never lets up the entire album.
Every rhyme, twist of phrase, clever hook, or crazy idea is something that shows he is head and shoulders above most of his fellow MCs. And he can sing, too!
It's just plain funky. In all honesty, I don't think he's received the type of credit he deserves for this album. Perfect Imperfections is essentially a solo artist's version of what Outkast did with Stankonia and Speakerboxxx, and possibly superior. It's just as creative, and fuses several musical genres flawlessly.
Cee-Lo Green has an incredibly original musical talent, ... Read More:

I don't really have any other Beastie Boys but this is a great anthology. The songs are wonderful and have a great beat. I love this compilation

In the early 1990s, groups like Arrested Development, DeLa Soul, Digable Plants, Tribe Called Quest, and the sadly forgotten Gumbo could have revolutionized rap music. Their tunes were filled with jazzy instrumentation, melodic hooks and harmonic raps, and uplifting and intelligent lyrics. Sadly, rappers chose to go down the low road of ignorance, violence, and misogyny which is where it remains today.
But AD and it's leader Speech put out some good stuff in its time. "People Everyday" (the superior remix, not the plodding album version) is included with it's funky tale of violence only being used as a last resort. "Mr. Wendal," a timely tale of sympathy for the homeless, "Tennessee" (need I say more? I listened to this repeatedly during the night of the Rodney King riots ... Read More:

This is not only the first release with Violent J, 2 Dope and John Kichass rapping as "Insane Clown Posse", but this is the first ever release from arguably the most successful Horrorcore Rap label to date, Psychopathic Records.
This, along with their previous "Inner City Posse" albums was without a doubt an experimental album, they had no clue what they wanted their style to be. In this album, they took on gangsta rap (Wizard Of The Hood), Horrorcore Rap (Guts On The Ceiling), Storytelling Rap (First Day Out) and even Political Rap (Taste). They attempted and succeeded very well amongst all styles. However, although this is an experimental album, they ended up to this date with a completely different style, so in each I.C.P. album, do not expect another like this one. This ... Read More:

This is a group I've heard of ever since the first House Of Pain album hit my ears, and always wondered about them. Well 15 years later I finally got it and love every minute. The easiest way to descibe Funkdoobiest, is if you like either House Of Pain or Cypress Hill, you'll dig the doobie. This is produced by DJ muggs (CH) and DJ Lethal (HOP), and therefore has alot of similar beats/lyrics as the other two. In fact, I used to think the Beastie Boys were the logical third member of the House Of Pain/Cypress Hill trilogy, now I know it's Funkdoobiest.

OK, like, this is really good music and where was I in the year 2000 when Blackalicious' "Nia" came out? I can answer that one friend. I wasn't listening to the best new music to come out that year back then friend. I wasn't cool. I wasn't hip. But you can become that by simply buying this album, boy!
Nevermind the band's name and its connection now to that annoying designer on Project Runway that keeps trying to come up with his very own little catch phrase by saying everything is something-licious. The forecast is looking good that the phrase won't catch on to the lexicon of pop language in America and you can get back to listening to Blackalicious in peace. That dude'll be voted off before you know it when Heidi lays down the smackdown.
