This CD took a few years for me to get into, hence the late review. I tried and tried but I finally get it. This CD is great. Its different then Fly or Die, which is a great CD in itself. Neptunes is great but NERD is just greater. Its rock done NERD style. Its a mix of r and b, soul, funk, punk, rap, etc. You can jam this through from track 1 to 12.
Release Date June 22, 1999
This album is almost flawless and in my eyes, it is a hip hop classic. It is Missy's best album, with Under Construction in a very close second place.
Timbaland's production on here is untouchable, even to this day. Unlike almost every other rap song out there, these songs aren't just the same loop repeated over and over again... they have movements. They unravel as the song moves on. This album, which spans over an hour, does not get boring for even one moment. Since Missy hadn't fully developed her flow at this point, she smartly made the album half singing, half rapping. This also further sets it apart from any other rap release.
This Missy Elliott album, although overlooked, is an essential recording. I would say that ... Read More:

When I first heard this album when it came out, I didn't take it too seriously cause it was just different from low end theory and midnight marauders. After a couple of listens, I realize that this album was the perfect ending to a spectacular career. The only way I can describe this album is "futuristic native tongue." I think that this album was ahead of it's time when it was released, hence some of the indifferent or negative feedback on this album. My personal favorites are 1: Da Booty 2: Busta's lament 3: Mutty Ranks 4: Find a way.
Don't sleep on this album!!!! It's genius in it's own way.
Release Date July 02, 1996
From the first time I heard it I knew it was one of the best cd's EVER made, and now some 12 years later, I still feel the same way about it. I put it up there on the same level as Public Enemy's "It Takes A Nation...", Common's "Like Water For Chocolate", Ice Cube's "Death Certificate", Mos Def & Talib Kweli "Are Black Star", Dr. Dre's "The Chronic", And Outkast's "Aquemini". I wish De La Soul would get the credit they truly deserve!!!!!
Release Date August 03, 1999
This album has a cretain raw sound in the way it was recorded, almost like it was done live. This is very fun music perfect for carefree summer days, cool beats, funky bass lines, and laid back lyrics and delivery. This is the only g love album i own, it still satisfies me when i hear so i have no need to buy another one.I like the Rodeo clowns on this cd better than the original. It flows better with the beat. These guys are the masters of "cool" music.

When this album first released, I wasn't as into as Power In Numbers. Now, however, 2 years later, this album has really grown on me and contains the same strength, positive message and beat. I think it was ahead of its time two years ago, but now I listen to it all the time. Certain tracks like, "Get it Together" "Turn It Out" and "End Up Like This" really qualify these guys (the whole album) as true artists. They have a real 'slice of life' or experience based lyrical base which is strong. Not only that, but they speak from a positive perspective which so many musicians seem to have difficulties with. No whining! It ought to be a qualifier for beat-music. That would get rid of a lot of the crap rap that exists out there.
Candy for my ear, I hear you now and ... Read More:

I remember when I purchased the single "Fakin Jax", I couldnt wait till the album came out and to my disbelief they werent releasing it I was crushed! This was in the 90's. When I saw it on Amazon as a release of the whole album, I jumped on it. Classic material, best believe people. Its actually a double CD with InI and Deeda's album.
Release Date December 08, 1990
When i first got this album to didnt really like it. But a few months later i played it and feel in love. Dope lyrics and amazing beats are all thats on here. Speaking on racial issues and changing who you are. Every track is worth playing. Feels so Good is a track about girls changing who they are and being fake, guys just want a real girl thats natural, Believe that. Ragtime, Drop the Bomb and Slow Down are amazing track. Listen to Slow Down and tell me you dont love it. If you like ATCQ or Dela i would recommend that you get this album soon. Very underrarted.
Release Date October 23, 2007
This is definitely a classic for any Little Brother fan. After the last release of "The Minstrel Show" and producer 9th Wonder leaving the group, not too many (including myself) expected this album to be as great as it is. Definitely pick this one up. I would say this is their strongest effort since "The Listening".
