When I first listened to this CD I thought it was a little long and somewhat boring. It was my first exposure to Spiritualized and from what everyone was telling me I was a little disappointed. However, I did not let my first run around make up my mind. I kept on listening and everytime I did something new came up in the music. Eventually, listening to the CD became more than just music playing it became an experience of life. The music eveloped me and I felt the connection. There are a lot of CDs I have that I will listen to when I just want a sing along or to rock out. However when I want to be part of the musical experience I feel there are really only two. "Marquee Moon" by Television and this album. There are others that come close ... Read More:

If you are already into Mogwai, I needn't tell you how amazing this album is by itself. When it was first released in October of 1997, it hit me with such impact, that it forever changed how I listen to music and what I feel about it. It still blows me away even today. Mogwai heralded something challenging and different to what I previously knew about music. In that respect, it is worth every penny. However, this is a remastered/expanded version.
Typically, I am skeptical about the whole 'remastered' thing. It seems that the results are mixed--and sometimes not even discernible from the original. Had it not been for impulsive behaviour in action, I might have given this a miss when I came across it the other day. Thankfully, I didn't. 'Young ... Read More:

Just to give a brief summary as to where I stand as a Björk fan before I dive in...I think her first two albums (Debut/Post) are both great records. Yet, she was a little more naive at the time and didn't have as much control creatively. But she was learning. With her next two releases, Homogenic and Vespertine, she began to break away from the poppy sounds of the first two and began to write (she began having more control over the writing), darker, bleaker records. So not only did she begin to define her sound and really become the unique artist she is, but they where also simply brilliant, amazing records. With Medulla she came up with an interesting concept, yet it was simply too hard to listen to in the context of a record. For me atleast.

This 1975 album is my favorite of Eno's "rock" records and the contemplative, moody soundscapes really made it work for me. Overall, Another Green World presents a nice mixture of Eno's quirky pop tunes, gloomy instrumental tracks and a few instrumental pieces that feature some great playing by Phil Collins (Genesis, Brand X) and Percy Jones (Brand X).
Along with Brian Eno (guitars, synthesizers, electronic effects, keyboards, percussion and vocals), the personnel listing on this excellent 1975 release includes a few prog luminaries such as Phil Collins (drums and percussion), Percy Jones (fretless electric bass) - they play on two vaguely jazz-rock flavored pieces including Sky Saw and Over Fire Island and a mood piece entitled Zawinul/Lava, while ... I read a review in the Riverfront Times, St. Louis. I had high hopes. Sorry, couldn't get through the disc: too boring. The first track sounded a bit like "Failure." Overall sounded like a band of 13 year-olds discovering how to make noise.

I recently became a fan of Ladytron's music when I first heard samples of their latest album VELOCIFER and bought the album. I took to the album like white on rice and obviously the next step was for me to start checking out their other albums. I recently got a hold of their 2006 album WITCHING HOUR. WITCHING HOUR is more dance orientated than their latest cd which ventures into the shoegazing territory. When I think of the term "electroclash", I think of Fischerspooner and their short lived stint in the spotlight. I didn't care for their music so that really put me off to music that fell under the electroclash genre. So when I heard WITCHING HOUR recently I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this sort of music but maybe because it wasn't done in such a dreary ... Read More:

I was torn between giving this four or five stars, because the last track is extremely boring, which drags it down a half-star. But considering the vast influence it had on post-rock, it really deserves a five.
My favorite songs are "Ascension Day" and "After the Flood". "New Grass", "Taphead", and "Myrrhman" are all very, very well done too. I honestly don't know how they could have made songs as lush, beautiful, complex, experimental, and interesting, and then made the last track, "Runeii", which really is just dull. Maybe it's just me.
Anyways, this is so, so good. It is very different from anything I've heard. It's like Brian Eno was playing in a jazz combo with some guitar feedback and a string section thrown in. Amazing.

Brian Eno has quietly been one of the most influential pop stars of the century.. The brains behind some of the biggest movements in 70's, 80's,90's and current popular music - Eno does not get half the credit he deserves and is kind of in the shadow of glam stars such as David Bowie..
Here come the Warm Jets was his first solo attempt after leaving the popular 70's group roxy music.. It is one of his best albums and shows a very experimental and yet highly accessible stage in his career..
Laced with bizzare lyrics and even stranger electronic instrumental moments, Here come the warm Jets is one of the most original experiences of 70's glam.. with songs like baby's on fire and needles in the camels eye - eno proved there was life after roxy music..

Great band from El Paso that have a lot of King Crimson spirit. Who said prog bands can't come from El Paso? Awesome music with outstanding guitar play. There is no doubt that they are weird but they are weird in a good and interesting way. I will be seeking out more of their work!
Release Date September 23, 1992
While all of Brian eno's work is interesting, his own work in the ambien series, while refreshîng, was enver as exciting as this piece; it is ironic that the best album in this series would not be by eno himself.
