First time seeing the group and was interesting. Saw clips of video at c. city and felt compelled to buy it. Some interesting and good songs, but not all of them. Same as entertainment value, some was good, some was ok. Nothing bad, nothing over the top.

Not only is the movie one of my faves but so is the soundtrack. I have an addiction to buying soundtracks and this one tops the list of my many. Its so good I'm using a few of the tracks for my wedding.

This entire album is amazing. So simple, yet so complex. These are not just songs; these are emotions in the form of music. There is no need for lyrics when you convey your message with such beautiful instrumentals.

Jamie Lidell is one of those artist that broke into a little bit of mainstream by being used in an episode of Grey's Anatomy. His last album Multiply was an absolute piece of art. It evoked the spirit of old time funk, a little motown, and rock and roll. This album is surely focused a little more on Motown. Jim is more polished a lot softer and happier. These songs could have easily been from a past time period. The songs are well written and very well performed. Any fan of Motown would surely fall in love with this album.

David Bowie has had various watershed albums, I think 'Low' is one of them. It has to be said that at the time of release it was not received as well as previous works - his label being disinterested in sufficiently marketing it must have definitely contributed to the situation, forcing him to change contracts. It was a difficult period for Bowie, living a year in LA, alienated, troubled with drugs. 'Low' is a powerful result of that mid 70's era finding Bowie as always, willing to experiment with new ideas, to twist the expected. Together with Brian Eno he produced a David Bowie masterpiece which I for one still find exasperating considering the period it was done in and its context amongst other contemporaneous music being produced and retailed by major artists ... I just downloaded the entire album yesterday on the strength of these (at the time 27) reviews totaling somewhere in the neighborhood of 4.5 stars and a similar glowing review from pitchfork and I am amazed. Amazed at how little I enjoyed any of the murky, formless cacophonous blobs on this record. I would have given it 2 stars because a couple of tracks, Easier, central and remote perhaps show potential of being good or great songs if they were worked on some more, but I feel it neccessary to bring down the overall rating as much as possible so someone else has less chance of making the same mistake as me. just putting words to music in a certain order does not make a song. the words are very sparse, and get drowned out in the expansive, discordant nothingness of these songs ... In my mind it's nearly impossible for an album to be a 5 star effort unless it influences and impacts music as a whole and often over more than one generation. I have only heard the album 6 or 7 times. Of course, to be fair, I have only had it for two days.
Personally I like the track No Need to Worry quite a bit. It reminds me of the grand simplicity of Pink Floyd or The Grateful Dead's Terrapin Station.
One thing that I think makes this band so spectacular is the fact that you can pick out possible sound influences from the above mentioned to a dash of The Fields to Radiohead. This is truly a unique album and does a great job of showcasing this band's genre defying sound.
In looking through these reviews, and writing this one, I am also struck ... Read More:

i don't agree w/ the reviewer who says Los Angelas is a letdown after Reset. i think it's a very nice progression. both are unique and superb and some of the most interesting and exciting electronic music being made today. highest recommendation.

My favourite music for relaxation and/or meditative states of mind. Music for Airports is never intruding and uses soothing sounds rather than melodies. More minimalistic than most new age music of today.
