I have several Eno albums so far, and several Budd albums so far, probably about 8 or 9 albums between the two, and this could easily be my favorite one of them all. I haven't heard every single album by Eno yet but of the four or five that i have heard and own, this is my favorite. This is a one song, one hour album, that is nothing but just very pleasant and very soothing, easy going ambient music, performed by mostly acoustic piano and some synth in the background. Five stars.

THIS is the album I used to play before going out at night. Because of rock, noise, pop, and bossa. The neighbours wanted to kill me everytime "Our triniton blast" ended. And I'd wait all night until "Jenny Ondioline" fades out.
I think this is the one which defines best their style. Absolutely classic.

In William James' classic The Varieties of Religious Experiences, buried deep in the 400 page work is a passing comment concerning music's appeal to one's mystical sensibility. Into the Blue Again is a great album that captures nearly flawlessly that mystical quality that is so attractive to some people. What I enjoy about it the most is that it captures this quality without being barbaric, eccentric, or abrasive. Into the Blue Again is peaceful and transcendent while at the same time powerful, both familiar and new at the same time.

As far as a pop album goes, this is a very well produced album. I'll admit I am biased as I was subjected to this at a good time in my life. However, I think you'll find some excellent production quality and musicianship. Such songs as "Monkey Man" display very good composition and choice of sound. If you enjoyed Talking Heads catchy tunes, I think you'll like this. Regardless of ego or reasons for the fallout of TH, Byrne has chosen professional musicians to execute his dream. All around a very good play.

I saw Laurie Anderson perform many of these pieces as part of her 1982/3 tour through Washington, DC. I'd never seen so many people rise so quickly to give her a standing ovation. My older friend, whom I invited, looked at me (seated) and said inquiringly over the din "I don't get it. What's this all about"? Big Science, and the related United States works, established her as the leading avant-garde minimalist lending repetitive quirky iconic visuals to deeply disturbing tone-poems of societal mis-communications and broken attachments. A number of groups such as the Talking Heads dealt with similar themes in more musically engaging ways, but Laurie Anderson cuts out all the melodic fluff and laid bare the emptiness engulfing modern America. I rate the contents five ... Read More:

I must have told a thousand people how wonderful Athlete's first album was. It was quirky, unique, melodic, I could not have been more effusive than I was, when talking about it. I gritted my teth when "Tourist" came out, and tried ever so hard to like it, but the depth of "Vehicles and Animals" was definitely not present on this second cd. Then "Beyond the Neighbourhood" was issued. What a huge disappointment. Athlete had held so much promise, and now, they seem as if they are just another band putting out sappy radio songs. I do not mean to denigrate those who gave this recording a positive review, but please listen to "Vehicles and Animals." It is truly one of the greatest pieces of popular British music to be released in twenty years. "It's the simple things like the ... Read More:

As you'd expect from the guitarists from King Crimson and The Police, "I Advance Masked" sounds like a collison of instrumentals that both bands recorded (particularly the 80's version of King Crimson with Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Bill Brufford aiding and abetting Fripp). Released in 1982, there are elements of Fripp and Summer's approach with their popular bands sprinkled throughout the music.
The polyrhythmic structured style of playing that Summers used in The Police provides a perfect backdrop for Fripp's rapid fire deliver. The result is an album heavy on atmospheric guitar textures. There's plenty of melodic material as well such as the beautiful and evocative "Girl on a Swing" and "Lakeland". The slightly off center, askew funhouse melodies take this far out of Windham ... There are plenty of reviews that will tell you why you should or shouldn't buy this album, but it frustrates me that so few reviewers on Amazon mention the actual version of the product at hand. I would think that many if not most of the potential buyers of this disc are already familiar with The Residents, if not this album itself, but what is seldom (if ever) mentioned is that this is a fantastic 'pressing' packaged very handsomely in a CD-sized, glossy hardcover book. I first dicovered that Residents albums were being packaged this way when I recently picked up the two double-album discs comprising the so-called 'Mole Trilogy.' I decided to take a chance on this disc (as well as Duck Stab) and was very happily surprised to see that these, too, had been released in these wonderful packages, with ... Read More:

This album is super dope. A lot more fun than the recent classical stuff, this is some phat jungle styles. This hasn't left rotation since I got it actually and it's only getting better with each play. Recommended.
Release Date October 23, 2007
This album is shameful. It is nothing like DT or LTE. I can heard Portnoy say "Let's put out the scraps of a session, they'll buy it".
Hey Mikey...we don't buy (and then love) everything you all create.
