This is, undoubtedly, the best electronica album of all time. I Love this album. All of the songs. Period. From someone who has been in the music industry professionally, I have heard lots of music. And when it come to Aphex Twin, and any other in this genre, it ROCKS.
Release Date October 26, 2004
Mostly this album is an overblown dark ambient hodgepodge of genre fittings, but occasionally the brilliance that would become this band comes through. Their debut is perhaps the only album where Sigur Ros could actually be heard sounding like something else (quintessential shoegazers Slowdive come to mind) and the only album in their respected discography not needed to date.

Eno amazingly continues to mature. Albeit the fanbase may have difficulties Eno-volving. Beautiful, simply beautiful. If you are a fan of Eno w/ Lyrics, ala Another Green World, make your purchase. I highly doubt you'll regret it after the 85th listening. Stunning. Tearjecking. Heartrending. Listen and evolve.

This is a pleasant CD and would be a worthy addition to your collection. I also bought Thursday Afternoon, and think that it is even better. Sometimes this CD is just the right thing. Recommended.

Come on, it's even in black and white. There is a reason why no one talks about the Fly II. For the record his suit was green that night.

Ok, I at first enjoyed this album very much. The synth and driven pop sound is catchy immediately, kinda reminded me of some of the shoegazer bands I used to be into, and kinda of that first dandy warhols cd. Then I listened to what they were saying. The lyrics are gibberish at best... I haven't heard so many dum-deee dums , babababas or hahahas since that hanson band was all over the place. This, in and of itself, wouldn't be so bad (kinda reminds me of a more subdued cocteau twins), but this these "lyrics" are blended in with some of the more pretentious songwriting I have heard in a while. As an example, the first track's lyrics expound knowingly and seriously on creativity, ideologies, and the meaning of existence with an ecstatic bubblegum backing harmony ... Read More:

Richly textured, intensely personal fusion of dream and noise pop from Atlas Sound, a side project of Bradford Cox, otherwise a member of Deerhunter. The intensely personal part you may or may not get at first, if ever without an explanation (available online, fortunately), since some of the lyrics are so personal as to be abstract, but then those lyrics are often lost in the mix, obscured by instrumentation, static or droning sounds, anyway. Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel can be seen as an album akin to David Bowie's Low, where the feeling one gets from the music presented is as important than anything said (or sung) directly. That said, the music here is by turns beautiful and unsettling, and for a record that's so highly experimental for ... Read More:

I still can't understand what it is about certain music and it's mysterious abilities.
Pygmalion reaches great depths and stratas and it is very hard to let go of afterwards. When you think back to remember the music, you can't. Instead you remember where you were when you had it on, and the mood you were in and who you were with when it was on.
A very intimate album, and in some tragic way a romantic album as well + it drastically elevates the meaningful-ness level in the room with a lover -- after a terrible argument. It's invaluable in that department. I love it when music feels sometimes like a companion when things go wrong.
It's not 'happy' , nor is it 'sad'. It reaches a liminal middle ground somewhere. ... Read More:

I am strongly reminded of Pearls Before Swine, and very early Marc Bolan. Connaisseurs of Tom Rapp and acoustic T. Rex will, like myself, find a great deal of pleasure in losing themselves in a long meditative listen of this work. Highly recommended to anyone disillusioned with the manufactured talent presented by the MSM.
