i have the lp of this. some time was actually put into it.
it comes with a etching of a train and an actual penny that was run over by a train. the lp misses the song providence. on side b(east hastings) the very end repeats forvever unless you stop the record. giving more meaning to the title F# A# infinity.
the music is great but is mostly soundscapes. a great experience.
recommended.
Release Date October 25, 1990
Push the envelope and learn why the obscure Captain Beefheart is a major influence on so many later music. He and Zappa are two peas in a pod but they are probably the only two. Trout Mask Replica is an exploration of musical daring, worthwhile for any music lover but don't expect to be soothed to sleep, this demands your attention!
A squid eating dough in a polyethylene bag is fast and bulbous, got me?

I was a huge fan of "Spirit of Eden" and it's follow up "Laughing Stock" by Talk Talk.
When I saw Mark Hollis put this out I had great hopes. And this album delivers in spades. It is a sublime, nuanced work of great sophistication. Very quiet. Very moving. Definetly reccomended.
Release Date September 26, 1995
There are about a million reasons to buy this record, and they're all good reasons. But the most important one is the final track. "The Diamond Sea" is their swan song...the complete fulfillment and summarization of a long and evolved career of beautiful sound.
Release Date April 03, 2007
I play this album on repeat while writing code. I find that I often lose complete track of time and do some of my best work while this beautiful album holds the normal bustle of the office at bay. Even after two months now, this album is still as potent as it was on the first spin.

This is an okay cut of the Bungle page, but far from their other brilliant works. Do not buy this for your first Bungle experience, save it for later.

Having discovered Buckethead only a few months ago, I have found myself working my way through his material (all that I can get) to the point that I now have more of his albums than any other artist's I own. Acquiring (some of it I actually got for free, legally) Bucket's music is akin to mining for precious stones. You really have to sift through some rather worthless (sorry, for lack of a better term)stuff to come up with the gems. Decoding the Tomb is definitly one of those gems. I have been listening to it almost exclusively (and I have close to two thousand albums) for the last two weeks. Prior to this I was hooked on "Peppers Ghost" a great album in it's own right, but I think this may be even better. The song "Sail on Soothsayer" has so much emotion in it I ... Read More:

This is definitely Buckethead's most listenable album, with it's catchy riffs, hip-hop beats and great vocal performances.
I don't own all of Bucket's albums (there's just too many!), but of the 4 I still own (Bucketheadland-Import, Giant Robot and Colma) this is my go-to every time. It has fun lyrics from Bootsy, Onions and Les and instantly memorable guitar riffs in Buckethead's signature style.
"Robots and Monsters" is such a cohesive effort in terms of the production values, even though each song is unique you never feel worried that the next song is going to suddenly trade rocking guitar solos for a monotone little kid reading a weird poem over strings ('COUGH'Giant Robot!'COUGH') or just repeat chainsaw-guitar samples over and over again ... While all of Brian eno's work is interesting, his own work in the ambien series, while refreshîng, was enver as exciting as this piece; it is ironic that the best album in this series would not be by eno himself.
Release Date April 09, 1996
First, this is a fantastic album. I always find something new every time I listen to it...and I've listened to it a lot.
But what's interesting about this album is that it's really a demarcation from one phase of Stereolab to another and there is a specific song where that it seems like they threw the switch and never looked back. It's breathtaking, in fact.
Previous to ETK, Stereolab was a fine band, however, it seemed like they would forever be stuck repeating itself. The albums before ETK seemed to be a collection of simple droning tunes which seemed a little overly retro. That's not to say that those albums are bad, but that trick was starting to play itself by the end of the fantastic Mars Audiac Quintet. Then came Emperor Tomato Ketchup. ... Read More:
