Until I heard this CD, I was unaware that Edith Piaf had ever recorded any songs in English. I was aware, however that she didn't learn much English until very late in life. Someday, I hope to have heard everything she ever recorded. She died when I was 21, but I have enjoyed hearing her sing from the time I was about 12, maybe earlier. One does not need to understand the words in her songs to appreciate the power and feeling she puts into all her work; the meaning is clear enough.

I have read reviews that this album is worth nothing.Others say its pure gold.I have been a backstreetboys fan since I was little.This albums brings so much memories.I love this album and recomend it to true Backstreetboys fans.This album is over 10 years old so of course its going to sound old school.People today hate Frank Sinatras songs because it sounds like a old radio.Back then there were no computers than help change a persons voice.People who hate this album have no appresiation on true music.There's a reason this album sold millions of copies.In conclusion this album is that dam good.

This review was accidentally placed on the wrong CD (Best of Zucchero), but it rightfully goes with this CD (Zucchero and Co.)! (please forgive) (However,The Best of Zucchero is also ONE GREAT CD and is highly recommended !)
Well, if you love the blues, or an updated/different version thereof, and if you love love songs, you will love this CD ! Whether you can speak Italian or not, who cares...they are love songs, make up your own words ! lol I bought this CD just for one song, Cosi Celeste (she's my baby) but have fallen in love with the entire CD...and Zucchero too I might add ! I discovered him through my love of Cheb Mami and wanted She's My Baby done by both of them, hence this CD was purchased. That song is mesmerizing and Cheb's voice ... Read More:

This compilation is magnificent. It's even more indispensible since much of her pre-1967 material is presently in legal limbo due to a dispute between Hardy and her record company. Luckily this collection appears to be have been issued under a separate license than many of the currently unavailable french BMG Vogue reissues.

Generally clear and melodic voice, but it sometimes gets a bit thick in the lower ranges, while he strains on the higher notes and occasionally goes a bit sharp. I completely disagree that he sounds anything like Bocelli; his voice is definitely not of that caliber. The songs had good variety, but he lacks the color, or perhaps emotional quality of a Bocelli or even Josh Groban to bring them to life.

Ever had that amazing sense of deja vu? As I was in my local Texas Barnes and Noble, I heard an in-store CD that shocked me for its obscurity; I was sure that the voice belonged to one of the members of Kashtin, a First Nations Innu band from Quebec that had disbanded some time ago as both members pursued solo careers. I thought "that's impossible, why would they be playing Quebecois First Nations music in Texas? And from a band as obscure as Kashtin?" (Kashtin's Akua Tuta received airplay on the Due South: The Original Television Soundtrack). As a general rule, actresses that decide to take up singing don't usually fare too well with me. Their albums almost always come across as vanity projects, trying too hard to get attention from either the mainstream or the "hipster crowd." Knowing this, I was rather cynical when a friend recommended Charlotte's "The Songs That We Sing." This particular friend had pretty good taste and liked a lot of things that I also went for, so I tracked down the song and hoped it would be worth my time. To my surprise, it was actually pretty good! Shortly afterward, I decided to give the full album a try, hoping it would avoid the "singing actress" cliches and be as good as "The Songs That We Sing."
