Imagine a long summernight, when you're sitting outside having a relaxed cooldown after a long, hot day. This music is the perfect companion, just as the original songs were for a cold winternight in a northern town. Some songs are almost unrecognizable from their original recording, so even though you might have listened to these way to often in the 80s, they are still refreshing the way Nouvelle Vague has remastered them.

Sorry folks, I'm mostly a metal guy.
After fifty years of hype, I was bored and picked this one up hoping to expand my musical tastes.
Um, didn't happen. Not till Ray of Light anyway.
The title track is the only decent song on the disc.
Every other song is manufactured pop drivel.
Pass.

I purchased this and several other Yann Tiersen titles after buying the Amelie soundtrack. I've enjoyed this one the most. It's very rich and enjoyable. If you like his music, I highly recommend it.

"Arrival" is rife with great songs, performances and instrumentation. If you're new to Abba, start with this album. From the concert hall sound of "Dancing Queen" to the instrumental closer "Arrival", this album plays effortlessly through the whole pop spectrum . Benny and Bjorns music will continue to enthrall and entertain new audinces for years to come. For my money they were the Swedish Lennon/McCartney.

I could not sit down and listen to ABBA. ABBA was something you put on when you were doing housework or driving. I can sit down and listen to this album. It is dance fluff, but good dance fluff. There are not enough strong songs for me to rate it 4 stars, but there is definitely enough to make it worth buying if you are looking for solid dance/pop.

Lasting impressions of ABBA's 35 videos stem from a flawed, but favorable collection. A cursory glance at every video reveals careful attention to detail and above par visuals, especially given the primitive stages of video production during their era. Realizing their career span was from 1973-1981, they were ahead of the game in more than their syntho-techno sound. Noting that their last album was released the same year that MTV started and before Flock of Seagulls and Human League became popular, you begin to appreciate how ground-breaking they truly were. Don't expect Peter Gabriel-type experimentation, yet experiment is what they did.
