I first heard Nana Mouskouri's voice in a small hotel in Northern Spain in 1997. "Quien Es? Que voz!" (Who is that? What a voice!) was my comment. I was immediately hooked.

This album contains two of her lovliest pieces: "And I love you so," and "Plaisir d'Amour." I feel that some of the other songs are just okay, but that's probably because I prefer her softer, more gently romantic music. I gave my CD of this album to friends so that they can enjoy it and am now replacing it, just so that I can listen to these two utterly incredible pieces. I've also purchased the CD to give to another Mouskouri fan.

A classic album! I remember this album out at the same time the "Shaft" was out by Isaac Hayes in the very early 70's. I've only got this on cassette right now and will be ordering the CD. I'm surprised it took so long to actually be released on CD. Most of the tracks on the album are just different renditions/arrangements of the Love Story theme. I especially like "The Christmas Trees", and the sultry vocal on "I Love You, Phil." This album brings back those memories from the early 70's, a time when the world seemed a little less complex and down to earth.

This is probably my favorite of Celine Dion. Perhaps because we were staying near Quebec City. We would listen to it while driving in the countryside. Her voice is so unique, and powerful. Yet gentle. #7 Papillon and #11 Tous les blues sont ecrits pour toi are my favorites.

i was in a video bar in DC _____ years ago (it's gone now), and heard some music that made me stop dead in my tracks, listen to the music, stay glued to the video, and wait until I could find out, "WHO IS THAT?" It was Vanessa Mae. I bought this cd the next week, and it's still among the favorites in my collection.
VM has a brash, unique, peppy approach to anything she does. She's anything but boring. Her technique and respect for the underlying music is clear. I've slipped a VM in where I've had my hair cut, popped it in in the car - every time, people stop and pay attention.
I dont listen to her 24/7, mind you, but had to post a review 'cause it's among my favs. Hope you enjoy it too.

When I was a small child she was popular and we heard her on the radio and on Ed Sullivan. Now so many years later I rediscovered her music thanks to the movie "Le Vie en Rose." As an older adult, I appreciate her ageless talent. This album is a total pleasure, I recommend it highly.

The only fault with this album is that the notes are almost non-existant. I guess if I had the time I could figure out which songs were from Australia '77 and Wembly 79 and Stockholm '81, but I would have been happy if they did that for me.

The songs are all top shelf performances and just make me wish than in the late 70's I had not devoted so much energy to the punk music and kept my ABBA habit secret. I had all the singles back then but hid them as a guilty pleasure. Since I was more concerned with trends, I blew the chance to see them when they played the States and have only this cd (and a handful of videos and bootlegs) to keep me happy today. It is a must not only if you are an Eros fan, but also if you like Italian pop music. If you don't know deeply this extraordinary singer and WRITER, this is the best option. You can find in disc A some of his best original songs (not all the best) with the originall Eros feeling, then you'll find the evolution of a real artist in voice, arrangements and writing. Disc B is just a sorprise, you'll find that a great song can be said in other wonderfull way, from clasic to electronic pop, from salsa to rock. In disc C you'll remember in video how times goes by, some of these videos have been directed from famous movie directors and all are of an extraordinary production.

Why I bought this tape: My father is a big fan of ABBA and we have the audio cassette tape for one of our vans (it has a standard-grade sound system) and the audio CD for our other van (that has a system one level above standard, and sounds really good to me). My father saw a brief clip of ABBA performing on television, and wanted to see more, so I bought the VHS version of ABBA Gold. While there is a DVD version, my father has a VHS player and no DVD player.

If you're unfamiliar with ABBA, Wikipedia has a good description of them.
