I was very pleased with this cd. I had heard of Alizee in Mexico because she's very popular there and I figured I'd try her out and she is so awesome. Even though I can't speak french and understand very little you can feel her music something that moves your bones. I highly recommend her and Amazon too superb service.

Why this amazingly gifted young woman isn't a major star already is beyond me -- she sings like a fragile, wise-beyond-her-years, yet somehow hopeful angel, and her songs are instantly catchy & memorable, even if you don't speak a word of French. And as wonderful as this debut is, her subsequent releases only get better. But this is the place to start if you want something far more enticing & artistic than the generic, mass-produced "pop" that currently swamps the airwaves. Yes, genuine songcraft & performance still exist, and you'll find them both in heartbreaking abundance from Keren Ann. Most highly recommended!

After my CD arrived I quickly sammpled the songs and found myself asking "Why did you buy this?", but then after a few listenings it grew on me - or more to the point, I learned to appreciate it - now I only want more Paris Combo! After growing up in the US and growing horribly bored with US music (and it's tight pigeon holed categories) this perks up my ears - it's different.

I've loved Josh since the start and this is the best album he has ever released. The songs are all so beautiful and it is the album you can listen to from start to finish. Josh's voice is breathtaking and so soothing. Everyone should own this album.
Top songs:
February Song (to me, it's the best song he has ever released)
Now or Never
Solo Por Ti

"ABBA: The Ultimate Review" is a 3 DVD collection that asks several experts; music critics, performers etc to evaluate ABBA's individual albums and their most famous singles. The third DVD is a critical look at ABBA as a live stage band and features some interesting archival footage from their live TV performances/concerts.
This collection may appeal to the die-hard ABBA fans because it does feature some rare television performances and interviews that have not appeared in any of ABBA's recent DVD releases. They show very little of ABBA's actual promotional videos (the ones that have appeared on countless DVD's and videotapes) and concentrate more on their rare appearances; "Abba-Dabba-Doo", "ABBA in Japan", "ABBA in Germany"...etc. However, ... I like this music, since his 1st Cd, and I has a great music, a mix between New Age, and Choral, wich lift the spirit and the senses, for a comfortable time.
If you like this kind of music, you are getting a great Cd.

i was in a video bar in DC _____ years ago (it's gone now), and heard some music that made me stop dead in my tracks, listen to the music, stay glued to the video, and wait until I could find out, "WHO IS THAT?" It was Vanessa Mae. I bought this cd the next week, and it's still among the favorites in my collection.
VM has a brash, unique, peppy approach to anything she does. She's anything but boring. Her technique and respect for the underlying music is clear. I've slipped a VM in where I've had my hair cut, popped it in in the car - every time, people stop and pay attention.
I dont listen to her 24/7, mind you, but had to post a review 'cause it's among my favs. Hope you enjoy it too.

I love Tears for Fears. I love their over production, attention to detail, overlayering of tracks, and the general feel of their music. They represent the best of the 80's, of that there is no doubt. Seeds is not their best album, but it is a spectacular blend of many styles and has an overall feeling of otherworldliness. It seems that TFF is so often forgotten by MTV and VH1 when they speak of the eighties. All the hairband trash going down at that time and then you had the beauty and thoughfulness of TFF. I personally think that Everbody Wants To Rule the World was the best video and best song of the eighties (I know it was on Big Chair). Seeds is a very complex Beatles infused outing and worth every penny to own. I just wish these two would keep creating more music in ... Read More:

I don't think I have to say much. To me, this felt like a continuation of Howl Howl, Gaff Gaff. I felt like the first song was a continuation of "Seagull" on the last album. This album seems so much more "grown up" though. Musically and lyrically speaking. Although I don't think the band really matured, it just seems more grown up. I personally think there is a difference. Anyway, to me it sounds more cohesive. ANd I think the female back up vocals were a great attribution to the cd. I love this cd. There really is nothing to say. I honestly think if you like the last album, you'd like this one. There are some influences from the CUre, but SOL's are so much more consistant and the totally different. I like the CUre but these guys are quite more creative and refreshing. NUFF ... Read More:
