I have to agree with the other two reviewers here in many regards. Compared to the Era albums, this one is average. However, that said, I think "Sinfoni Deo" and "Prayers" are my two favorite tracks. With the latter being the better of the two - I've listened to it on repeat numerous times.
"Kilimandjaro" is not just bad, it's jarringly bad. In fact, it really ruined the rest of the album for me. Thematically, it doesn't even sound like an Era song. Like it got lifted from some other album by some other artist and dropped here. The lyrics are awful as well. This track has no redeeming value and I immediately removed it from my iPod. I've never had to do this with any other Era release. Or any other album on my iPod that ... Read More:

Here are the hits that didn't fit on ABBA Gold,
a few interesting ABBA album tracks, some B-sides,and one never before released track -I Am the City (recorded in 1982). Indeed, This CD has four of ABBA's six hard to find 1982 recordings on it.The other 1982 tracks available here being "Cassandra","Under Attack" and "The Day Before You Came"
This CD has often been out of print in various territories . The original version of this CD had liner notes by UK ABBA press officer John Tobler, but the recent remastered editions has liner notes by Carl Magnus Palm.
This album was originally going to be more of a rarities/fan request project, that would feature more B-sides and unreleased tracks such as "Just Like That'. ... Read More:

Real McCoy showed they they are indeed the Real McCoy when it comes it pumping, catchy, high energy dance music. Few dance songs of the 90s are as well produced and infectious as "Run Away" and "Another Night." Also of note is their cover of 70s pop group Redbone's hit "Come And Get Your Love". While this may be dismissed as fluff by some pop purists, having the come-hither type song sung by the gorgeous females of Real McCoy is pretty cool.

It's no wonder nowadays listening African and Arab rhythms come into the mix of a french singer. The surprise is on the doo wop and human beat box base used on most of the songs. Vocals sound good and if you speak some French, you'll be able to get on the very feminine lyrics.

brilliant cd shows why they were the best band of their time some of the music is still a diffrent class today, tracks 2 and 3 should have been released as singles by themself in my opinion. a great listen.

Why this amazingly gifted young woman isn't a major star already is beyond me -- she sings like a fragile, wise-beyond-her-years, yet somehow hopeful angel, and her songs are instantly catchy & memorable, even if you don't speak a word of French. And as wonderful as this debut is, her subsequent releases only get better. But this is the place to start if you want something far more enticing & artistic than the generic, mass-produced "pop" that currently swamps the airwaves. Yes, genuine songcraft & performance still exist, and you'll find them both in heartbreaking abundance from Keren Ann. Most highly recommended!

AoB's most famous hit is of course "All That She Wants," the vignette set to a wonderful beat about a trampy woman looking for someone new. I've always wondered if "all that she wants is another baby" is meant literally -- the already apparently single mother isn't content with screwing up at least one child's life, but wants to screw up another child's life by procreation through casual sex with someone she picks up on the beach one day. Your basic Madonna scenario. Or is it figurative -- "baby" is another companion, perhaps male, perhaps female (not that there's anything wrong with that!), with whom she can engage in some sort of liaison for the evening? Certainly the figurative interpretation is bolstered by the fact that the song states that ... Read More:

This CD offers proof that a collection of music can be simultaneously catchy, intriguing, and absolutely awful! I found "Young Folks" to be engaging when I first heard it played somewhere in public, and bought the entire CD based upon that impression. The disc was listenable for a week or so until I finally concluded that it was awkward almost to the extent that I wiped all traces of it from my music collection. (It shares that distinction with only one other CD, Mark Mothersbaugh's "Insomnia," from the late 1980's)
If the primary lyricist(s) were to partner with a more capable musical ensemble, the results might be more worthwhile. Maybe. (And stop that damned whistling. It's not innovative. It's not refreshing. It blows!)

Great to have a compilation from Anastacia, 17 songs on one cd, Ain't life grand ! She has a beautiful and POWERFUL voice, the best in my opinion. I too, am amazed that she is so under played here in the US. But this is precisely why I buy music... rip to the mp3 player and listen to what I want to hear, not some garbage the 'industry' is trying to sell.
Gone are the days of flipping thru radio stations to hear the same old tripe. My money goes to talent, Anastacia is oozing Talent from her pores!
