Great cd although the added tracks interrupted the flow of the original cd. My biggest beef is that it says "original Recordings Remastered", which holds true for all of the original tracks except for "Farther On Down The Road" which is NOT the same as the original on "The Best Of". The backup vocals..."spidoo-spidee" are not on this version and it's not as funky either. Honestly, that track is the whole reason I bought the cd and was very disappointed in the false advertising. Who is to blame for this? If anyone knows where to get the original version please let me know......

Not much new I can say about a classic, but I will say that it's very rare anymore to listen to a band and say to yourself, "Hey, these guys sound like they're having a real good time". In a world dominated by plastic sounding music(Plastic People! Oh, baby now you're such a draaaaaag! Sorry about that, I couldn't resist), it's so refreshing to listen to a group that doesn't sound like it's playing music simply because it's their job. Now while this was an attempt for Muddy to make a comeback, these guys sound like they love what they're doing so much that they couldn't care less if they sold one copy of the album, or even gave a hoot if they were being recorded at all! Muddy had a fantastic musical career long before this album, but in teaming ... Read More:

This album has some really great contemporary electic blues played with rock and roll attitude and fire. The second disk features the same musicians (Uncle John Turner and Tommy Shannon) with Johnny's brother Edgar live at Albert Hall England, the performance is just incindiary...

You know if Johnny did't exist you would have to think he was a work of fiction cooked up in some promoters mind in the late 60's high powered Blues Boom. Johnny was certainly in the ritht place at the right time. The man was the real deal with a depth of talent rarely seen...and he was well versed in a lot of music styles besides the blues and thats what sets JW apart from the crowd--besides being a 6' albino from Texas. All in all this is a great collection of songs from an American Treasure..He dam well should be!!

The Eelectric Blues never sounded so good. R.L. Burnside is very talented and Tract 3 "Let my Baby Ride" is one of my frvorite songs EVER.
This album was produced, engineered and mixed by Tom Rothrock and I enjoyed it all the way through. This is an excelent album!

I first heard this album when I was nineteen years old and looking for to hear something that would inspire me as a musician and human being. It's a shame that in this age of MP3 downloads you miss out on the album cover art and exquisite liner notes ... "songs of Mother Euphrates..." and this description "this album is the product of a number of musical friends, some of whom do not use music to create their song". This album is life-affirming, community building universal language at its best. And on top of that, very hip, very cool, and very funky. Anyone who thinks they dig modern blues, Americana, musicology or rhythm and blues in general should have a copy of this classic.

Debbie Davies has released many CDs over the years, but this one clearly stands out. Often these types of CDs, which involve a 'Who's Who' of contemporary blues artists, do not live up to expectations -- this one is definitely an exception. Put Davies together with Musselwhite, Benoit, and Montoya and sparks fly. Debbie wrote 4 of the 9 songs, while the rest are covers. The 'A.C. Strut' with Coco Montoya is a tribute to Debbie's mentor, Albert Colins, and it really rocks. Listen to Musselwhite on 'Movin' and Groovin' and you will soon understand why he is often referred to as "the Dean of Blues Harmonica" -- outstanding. Tab does a great rendition of Hooker's 'Crawling King Snake' with his Louisiana swamp style, as he is joined by Debbie. On 'Sonoma Sunset,' ... Read More:

I listened to the snippets of Susan's different albums after I heard her on Sirius. First time I'd even heard of her! Based on the samples I heard, I ordered Just Won't Burn and Wait for Me. LOVED them both on first listen. Oftentimes it takes me a few listens before I become enamored of a new artist, but not these. I was bouncing along to Rock Me Right first time I popped it in the player. And ok, no one else is Bonnie, but Susan reminds me alternately of both Bonnie and Janis. And both artists have different sounds, no? Well, I think Susan pretty much nails them both, as well as anyone could. Her ballads are very nicely done, also. I'm VERY happy I discovered her!
