I was one of those feelin' da F-A-B-O back in tha day when he first came out.
It was never that Fab was trailblazin' a new path or was some kinda great rapper that just stood out from the pack. But he did have flow, had clever wordplay and, in general, just made fun music.
I don't listen to this LP half as much since '02/03, but it's not a bad album by any means.
Lyrically, Fab's not a Nas, TuPac, JayZ or Biggie, but he's not fugazy like Ja Rule or a Lil Zane either.
I listen to this album now and it's just a consistent reminder of where hip hop was circa summer 2000-2001 (pre-Sept. 11). It was at a somewhat innocent, glossy and somewhat shallow & materialistic state.

Last summer I got to hear P.M. Dawn in person for ten bucks at a local club. As a reviwer said at the time, it is a sad day when a talent like P.M Dawn can't get hardly any recognition. I found his music through local Chicago music reviwers and fell in love with one of his songs, "Reality Used to Be a Friend of Mine." Like when teenages used to rate songs on Dick Clark's Bandstand, it's the beat and good to dance to. It is a bit more than that. This music is black and sweet and dark and constant. The more I hear this particular CD the more I like. I'm up for purchasing more of P.M.Dawn's stuff. Not been disappointed yet.

This album's original title when it was released in 1969 is "THE LAST POETS - Niggers Are Scared of Revolution". Just Like Gil Scott-Heron's "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" Album, these two albums captured the new emotions of the Black community during a time of change. It capture the change in this country for White Women, White folks in the way they think, the Black communities, now known today as African-American communities, across America, and it captures young individuals trying to make a differences within their own community.
This album, even though the original title has been deleted, still represents the Civil Rights moment for everyone living in America today and I am proud to have been able to finally obtain this ... Read More:

I like the documentary like feel to this movie. i like the stripped down rawness of it; in that sense it is not just another gang banger, not just another gang drama, or, maybe it is just another knock-off... it is just a movie about a day-in-the-life (day,week,month,year,decade... whatever). entertainment so unreal, yet it is real; and it is so real that it is unreal. it is appalling, it is horrific, and it is not cleaned up and polished off in the end, nor anywhere else throughout. for these reason, killa season is IT, far surpasses it's predecesor paid in full.
If you can make any sense out of it... then this movie just might be the one for you.
However, if youre not ready for the reality of unconsionable violence and... ... Read More:

Even now over 10years on, people are still talking about+listening to this classic hiphop album from one of the truely great hiphop acts in the last 15years. With MUGGS+LETHAL laying down some of the darkest+funkiest basslines you're likely to ever hear with break neck beats, screeching horns and haunting samples added to EVERLAST's gruff+DANNY BOY's high pitched rhyme deliveries, you're in for an amazing album. From possible the best opening track off ANY album "back from the dead" to the lead single "on point" to the ground shaking sounds of "over there sh**" to the story telling of "it aint a crime" to my personal favourite "who's the man?" we're treated to an array of tracks with a wide scope of topics. From beginning to end it's a typical H.O.P. album ... Read More:

This album is in my top ten ALL TIME, all types of music. I started listening to hip hop in 1987 and I remember the first time I listened to this album. It blew my mind with its creativity and innovative beats and rhymes. I recall one summer when I was in Israel and I would listen to the entire album every night before I fell asleep.
If you are a true head, buy it! De La is the truth!

We all wanna ball and we all wanna floss. Rocafella was that crew that showed us how to get that dough and how to do it in style. Jay, Dame, Biggs and the crew was doing it BIG. Loved the videos for all of VOL 1, especially Face Off (Redbones galore) and You Must Love Me.

It's a good album but he sold out and made a poppy non soul album that still to horrible of a sequel even though he wanted to be imperfect to reasonable doubt.
