For all the people complaining that this is not the 'old WU' need to shut up and move on. Every album is supposed to have a new sound to it. I love this album and I know that as individuals, the Wu still make their vintage sound on other tracks, so I'm secure in knowing that Wu has not changed, but have just experimented. Also know that it is impossible to please everybody, because if this album sounded like 36 chambers, there would still be people complaining that the album sounds old and would like to hear something new.

I peeped this cats as a DJ back in '96 when I was DJ for my College radio Station. I got the full album prior to the 97 relase and i was like, these cats are about to blowup. I had a 2 hr mix show 3 times a week and i made sure they were in rotation. thses cats were before their time, like the pharcyde, Sons of men, and Souls of Mischief. i keep them on my oldschool playlist on my Ipod.

I don't know exactly when it happened, but one day, during this new century, I woke up and realized Hip-Hop had died. However, in 1999, everything seemed to be going great for it. I would never have guessed things would evolve into the way they are now. Where we have extremely simple and unpleasant beats with hooks of never more than two or three words in them, repetitive unoriginal topics of money, strip clubs, women, and the display of a glamorous lifestyle. There's no longer such thing as songs you can't dance too that actually sound good at the same time. i really like mos def, but i'm not sure about this one. i've had it since it came out but i haven't really listened to it really good. i like him as an artist, so i'll really have to try again with this one.

Well to be completely honest I was disapointed with this album. And that's not B.I.G.'s fault. All of his lyrics and verses are on point. It's just the horrible production they chose to go with. None of it fits his style at all. And makes the album pretty boring. They should have stuck with the original beats and production he had recorded the songs with and it would have been a lot better. They really should re-release this with the original beats. . .

Instead of going in depth on each album and describe each album in detail, i'm going to simply rate each album with how many stars I feel each album is worth based on the below criteria. 5 stars- Classic, Album goes beyond description, Perfect in every way, Could remind you of a certain time or place, Lifetime replay value.
4.5 stars- Near Classic, Incredible album, Maybe only one song that is skippable or just overall doesn't quite deserve classic status. High replay value.

Struggle from the Subway to the Charts

This album is a great piece of art. I have never enjoyed orchestra music until I heard these guys. They have taken orchestra music to a level where anyone could appreciate orchestra music. I have enjoyed every song on this album. My 14yr old daughter and my 15yr old cousin enjoy listening to this album as well. Hats off to you guys for creating such an awesome sound that can be enjoyed by all ages, gender, and ethnic backgrounds.
