My son will not watch this Baby Einstein dvd. He doesn't like the drawing aspect. On one instance-it was drawing a face-and let's just be honest...babies don't have the attention span to watch something like that.
He didn't last but about 2 minutes-and that was with me trying to be chatty about it while he watched. Not one of the best Baby Einstein dvd's.

As a mother of two kids (ages 8 and 6), I have read nearly all of the Roald Dahl books multiple times in the past few years. We all love his writing - his stories are usually quite dark and yet offer a lot of humor, warmth and love as well. James and the Giant Peach is a wonderful story and well worth reading with your children. Mind you, there is the usual dose of Dahl meanness and nastiness but it is great story with many wonderful characters, budding relationships, and ultimately a very happy ending.

I was thus incredibly disappointed when we borrowed this DVD from our local library. The screenwriter took far too much liberty in changing things. I found it crude and insulting to the memory of Roald Dahl. If you have read ... Read More:

As a baby and a toddler, my daughter found this to be one of the more boring Baby Einstein videos. There are not enough animals and music in it and it is too slow moving.

My daughter has been addicted to this video since she has been 4 months old. It is the only Baby Einstein DVD that she would watch from the beginning to the end without becoming distracted. To this day (she is almost 16 mo old) she will sit down and watch it and do the actions with the babies on the DVD. I think she likes this video because it uses babies throughout the DVD and not just puppets. I would recommend this DVD to any parent with a young baby. She learned to clap with the video and she reached with the video. It was neat to watch her try to interact with the kids. I would sit with her and watch it and encourage her to make the same movements.

My son is 3 years old and he loves this CD. We have a "dance party" and just go crazy. He loves the songs "jump up" and "what's in the fridge?." And, I don't mind listening to it either- yeah! Very fun upbeat music. I would highly recommend this CD especially if your child likes to dance.

The Nightmare Before Christmas basically defines Halloween, what better way to have Halloween with you always then this CD? Load onto your iPod and it's good to go. The 3D cover art is really cool along with both CD's. The first CD is the original soundtrack and it's pretty much amazing. From The Overture to The End Title all the music is fantastic and clear as crystal. The second CD is remixes and demos. Most of the remixes are really cool. The only two I don't like are Sally's Song by Fiona Apple and Kidnap The Sandy Klaws by She Wants Revenge. I prefer Catherine O'Hara's version of Sally's Song and Kidnap The Sandy Klaws sounds way better when the cast sings it. All in all a great CD from a great movie. My child was a Baby Einstein fan. We started by introducing him to the Baby Beethoven DVD when he was only a few months old. In no time, he began to respond to the sights and sounds. Before long we had the whole Baby Einstein series. Children seem to grasp and understand (in their own unique way) by watching and interacting. Even now at almost seven years old, my son likes classical music and especially the featured tracks from the DVD. I think any program that seems to educate your children early on is great. This series worked well for us. Makes a great gift for parents to be. I highly recommend it.
