I consider myself a pretty hardcore Disney fan. As an adult with no children I usually buy this sort of thing for myself and I enjoy it tremendously.

I'll be honest here, while I do purchase almost all of the music I own, I will sample music via "shared" MP3s online from time to time. Especially with Disney now a days, the Princess franchise hits all kinds of highs and lows. There is no guarantee anymore that Disney automatically equals quality. I found a webpage online that enabled me to sample the first 8 tracks of this album in their entirety. I dodged a bullet here. Disney Standards is a great album by Steve Tyrell honoring some of the very best of the music from Disney movies. WE get great songs on this album; and Steve's voice is just perfect for these numbers. The quality of the sound is excellent and the artwork is very smart--good job on that artwork!

The album begins with Steve Tyrell and Chris Botti performing "When You Wish Upon A Star" from Pinocchio. "When You Wish Upon A Star" always stuns me with its beauty and the child in me loves this song--and I always will love this song because of that child in me. My 9 year olds have always loved this movie. The loyalty and friendship of the animals are genuine. The narration was superb - easy and interesting for kids yet not boring. There are enough talking animals nowadays. These two dogs and their cat were real. The humans that crossed their path spoke, and that made for enough breaks in the narration. This movie inspired us to read the book - also good. We are now hoping for the DVD. WALT DISNEY, BRING THIS BACK ON DVD, PLEASE!

I gave this cd to my 20 mo old twin granddaughters for Christmas. I put it on in the car for the 1st time yesterday and OMG they were rocking in their car seats. They adore the doodlebops and were moving their arms and legs and saying bops. Its a fun cd!
