This collection of tunes is an experiment with rock. I'm loving Björk's vocals, all though over-produced to an inch of her life. This LP is too eclectic to be eclectic. Post seems an effort to please mainstream goons. The LP feels forced.

This album was released in 1986 and for me it's their second best album. Three songs were released as singles: "A Question of Lust", "A Question of Time", and "Stripped". Those three are definitely highlights but in this case as with every DM album I think there is so much more to their albums than just the singles.
This is the album that has, I believe, the most songs sung by Martin Gore: "Sometimes" is a short memorable piano ballad, then there's "It Doesn't Matter Part II" which is the amazing sequel to the song from the previous album "Some Great Reward" although is musically very different. "World Full Of Nothing" is yet another excellent ballad and finally "A Question Of Lust" is the one they chose for single release.

If you had never heard anything from "The Fat of the Land" before this point in time, I feel confident guessing that you would think Prodigy was a "current" musical group/act.
The musicality and driving rhythms still feel fresh and clean, and the angst-filled vibe is still around. Prodigy was ahead of the pack, and still sounds great, today.

I like to read a lot of reviews about artists and albums that I have never heard or better yet never even heard of. I came across this gem a few weeks ago doing just that.
Wow...the first couple of listens to this album I sort of didn't know how to feel about it--I wasn't sure if I enjoyed the lead singer's voice (him being Scottish) or not. So I gave it a few more listens. His voice grew on me. The lyrics grew on me. All the songs would not stop playing in my head. As a side note, if you are one that is easily offended by profanity, then a few of his lyrics will rub you the wrong way because he does use some choice words in a few songs. Even so, I highly recommend this album to anyone and everyone.

I really love this album. The strength of the song "Overpowered" was enough to convince me to buy the album. Other great songs are "Let Me Know" and "You Know Me Better." My only complaint is that the album does not seem very cohesive. Never-the-less the songs I mentioned are slick and sweetened with Roisin's amazing voice.
Although average, it is a consistent, high-brow mediocrity. The group continues to focus on production technique at the expense of creating memorable tunes, which initially brought them into the spotlight on their debut. Here, although consistently "pleasant enough" to suffice as background coffee shop fodder, barely anything sticks to memory and what does still comes up emotionally superficial.

Yes!, I'll be the first to admit...The Main song "Cha-Cha Slide" (Club Version) works at almost ANY Party or Gathering. But the main question here is: Is this an Album or a Maxi??? There a 2 Versions of Every song (Except for a ballad) which really gives you a total of 5 or 6 songs (Instrumentals should be used for Singles, and Singles only!). There are some other cute songs: "Bus Stop/Electric Slide" & "Step To This". Don't forget you only have 5 or 6 to pick from! You know when you play a CD, and someone says "Why are you playin' that again???" or "Didn't we hear that song already?"...Get my point?
Maybe they (The Artist) was in a rush to put SOMETHING/ANYTHING together, and this was the best they could come up with or this was all they had to work with.

A friend played this CD for me on my last visit to Paris and I now associate Paris with Bebel's Tanto Tempo CD...even though she's Brazilian and the music is not Parisian. It just fit the time and place. You don't have to understand a word of what she's singing to understand what she's saying. I know nothing about Bossa Nova or Brazilian music but I got what she was portraying in these soulful and emotive songs. Just incredible and can put you in such a great positive mood! A must have for your collection if you are open to varied music tastes.
