For some reason when I woke this morning I had this tune in my head and couldn't rest till I traipsed down to the basement and found the old LP. What a difference from today when you can play all 10 tracks on the CD without switching or changing the record, but back then I never heard the songs on side 2--and never played the second disc on the double-LP, not ever, didn't see any point to changing up from the first 2 tracks. Why did artists make such long LPs, why not just collect a few perfect tracks? And thus it wasn't until today that I would up hearing "International Lover" and "Free" and the other songs (some of them not so great) on the "second disc" of the double LP--well, that dates me, but I expect at this time in Prince's career ... "Sellout" is a word that I don't care to use very much anymore for several reasons. It has been used ludicrously in such situations as Bob Dylan switching from acoustic to electric guitars. Or when the overwhelmingly awesome metal band Mastodon had one of their songs played on one of Tony Hawk's video games. Come to find out they received no money for their contribution, but still the "sellout" cries abounded. Often people miscall artistic maturity "selling out". It's a fact of life, many people do not like to do the same things when they were younger. And yet when I look at the BEP, it is one time when the word that I hate to use anymore is the only one that applies.
When the BEP started, they seemed like a credible hip-hop ... Read More:

I play "Ride Like The Wind" and "Uninvited" like it was going out of style. This is awesome workout and driving music. Highly recommended. Glad that a friend recommended it.

Spectacular solo effort! The only reason this isn't five stars is because Yorke is cursed from having been capable of albums that he'll probably never live up to again -namely O.K. Computer and perhaps The Bends. The songs Harrowdown Hill, Analyse and Black Swan are incredible. If you have enjoyed Radiohead's more electronic albums such as Kid A or Amnesiac then you should find a huge appriciation for The Eraser.

I like to read a lot of reviews about artists and albums that I have never heard or better yet never even heard of. I came across this gem a few weeks ago doing just that.
Wow...the first couple of listens to this album I sort of didn't know how to feel about it--I wasn't sure if I enjoyed the lead singer's voice (him being Scottish) or not. So I gave it a few more listens. His voice grew on me. The lyrics grew on me. All the songs would not stop playing in my head. As a side note, if you are one that is easily offended by profanity, then a few of his lyrics will rub you the wrong way because he does use some choice words in a few songs. Even so, I highly recommend this album to anyone and everyone.

Our school's 7th graders put on a haunted house as a fundraiser each year at Halloween. This year's theme was a haunted "mansion". In our room we had a skeleton playing an organ.... This CD was perfect!!!! Our skeleton "performed" all night long for two nights! It was just what I was looking for. Thanks!

I grew out of and beyond christianity a long time ago and I strongly recomend this CD. This CD is delightfully creepy. I can listen to it and feel in harmony with my inner divinity. This CD is great the only other CD or CDs that I feel that are in the same ballpark as this one is Dr. Jeffrey Thompson. I love these guys!! BUY THIS!!!
Buy the way, if you're guessing if I was paid to say that, I wasn't. Maybe you weren't thinking that but trust me this CD is enjoyable for christians pagans budhists alike.

In most respects, Thievery Corporation's 2005 album THE COSMIC GAME is a further refinement of the global lounge styles they had explored in previous efforts. There's Asian female vocals and sitar ("Satyam Shivam Sundaram"), echoes of Brazil ("Pela Janela"), and a rastaman glorifying Hallie Salassie ("Warning Shots"). The duo of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton, who ran an elite lounge in Washington DC that would accept only the finest dress and comportment, also continue their theme (its sincerity is questionable) of the Third World masses held down by the Man; witness the songs "Revolution Solution" and "Amerimacka" where Perry Farrell and Notch deliver such lines "The toil of the many goes to the fortunate few" and "Land of the free built on slavery." Most tracks are ... Read More:

Just about anything from Enigma is worth buying, because of the small amount of the material available. If you like unusual, non-mainstream music, this is perfect for you. It is electronic without sounding fake and the rare vocals are beautifully blended into the instrumental.
