The versatility and talent of this artist is second to none. He has a cajun country twist mixed with Jimmy Buffet and it really works. I have trouble deciding where to keep my copy...in the car, the house stereo or kitchen. It is truly one of my very favorites, and I have a wide range of music appreciation.

Johnny Lee is one of my favorite singers, and whenever I think of him, I think of "Urban Cowboy". This CD has some good songs on it, such as "Lookin' for Love" and "Cherokee Fiddle". Johnny Lee is a true country singer.

I don't understand why these three CDs didn't have the Life Cd included in the set. But I love all of Johnny's music. Haven't heard a bad one yet and I hav A LOT of Johnny, June, the Highwaymen and I'm currently building on my Rosanne collection. She's the one who inhereted "the gift".

I agree with "renaissance man" completely. I LOVE Don's voice and guitar, but I do miss the fiddle, mandolin, etc. However, barring the harmonica, those instruments would likely NOT have been out on the trail with working cowboys.

This album is a pure compilation of cowboy stories and songs that Don has collected over the years. In the booklet insert, Don details the history of each song. Fans and history buffs alike should enjoy these priceless cowhand accounts put to song.

I got this album years ago on cassette and quickally fell in love with it. This has some great cowboy classics. Chris LeDoux may not be the most popular country singer, but he is my favorite singer of all time! I Grew up listening to Chris LeDoux and this is album is teh shining star of my collection.

I am a Don Edwards Fan and had not listened much to Red until this album. It moved me. Shorty's Fence is a poem that makes any man think about what it is we are here for. You'll enjoy this album as no other cowboy album, it is presented in a way that makes you think.

I am a big Don Williams fan and have listened to his music (on tapes)since i was in my teens back in Africa. When i got to the US i wanted to build my collection of his CDs and i was finding it hard to get his tracks he recorded with MCA but when i saw this CD it was like my prayers had been answered. If you love excellent country music, this is a must have. It is so soothing, melodious and mature. If there was a rating higher than 5 stars, i'd give it to this CD.

First CD that seriously shut down my computer. I had to turn off the power strip, to have computer shut down, wouldn't shut down the regular way. I sent the CD for a refund or credit. I have bought many CD's from Amazon and other places and have never had any shut down my computer, and in this case a serious shut down as I put the CD in my computer to play. I tried the CD in a Boom Box, and it played. So it must have some significant copy guard right at the beginning.

My friend tells me she hates country songs where the dog died, the spouse has departed and things are bad. If you feel that way too, you may not want to buy this album. But if you want some of best country songs ever written that run through the range of emotions, this is the album to get. Everyone has probably heard Rose Colored Glasses, which is now a classic and recorded by many other artists. A bit overplayed unfortunately. Better songs of John's are seldom heard any more. The whole range of human tradegy is here: Miss Emily's Picture (lost love); She Can't Say That Anymore (Murder of a cheating spouse); I Don't Remember Loving You (Insanity); and Busted (Broke and out of a job).
