I just love this CD..Daniel has such a wonderful voice and he has selected a great variety of inspirational songs. I listen to this everyday..I have watched his PBS specials so I can see him dancing along the stage as he sings these songs. I highly recommend this to any daniel odonnell fans.

I'm not very good at telling you why I like music but Daniel O'Donnell does a good job on all types of music. He sings on key and I like that. He dresses very well, is clean shaven and has a great smile. He has great stage presence, moves about the stage very comfortably and gets the audience involved.
Mary Duff is just great. I like the way she works the crowd too and her many wardrobe changes with beautiful dresses, in good taste add to her presentation. Donald and Mary sing well together. They have great chemistry.
The recording also had several top entertainers including Pam Tillis, Charley Pride, the Gatlin Brothers and a couple others and I thoroughly enjoyed their presentations. I might even end up buying a ... Read More:

As a longtime huge CDB fan I was a bit hesitant to purchase this collection as I was scared off by the black disc cover. I wanted the original Fire On The Mountain artwork, notes, etc. but I eventually bowed to the price. What I found was that this was simply a box that holds the three separate cd's with their original covers, notes, etc.- hence this is a great deal for Charlie fans.
Now, personally, I like Million Mile and Full Moon, but would much rather have had a collection of Fire, Nightrider, and Saddle Tramp- but hey.
So, when do we get a CD version of "T-John, Grease, and Wolfman"?

I don't understand why these three CDs didn't have the Life Cd included in the set. But I love all of Johnny's music. Haven't heard a bad one yet and I hav A LOT of Johnny, June, the Highwaymen and I'm currently building on my Rosanne collection. She's the one who inhereted "the gift".

When Randy Travis blew into town, Country Music finally got off of it's knees and took it's place back at the front of the line. Thank God for Randy, Dwight, Patty, Marty, and George Strait. This album covers those Travis numbers that topped the charts, and when you listen to this CD, you'll soon realize why they reached number 1. Included here are "1982", "Look Heart", and "Diggin up Bones"...all great traditional country hits. But my personal Randy Travis favorite is his cover of Sonny James' "It's Just a Matter of Time". Many compared Randy to George Jones, and he did in fact carry forward some of Jones' syle; but there was no doubt that Randy was more influenced by Lefty Frizzel. This is a great album, well worth your money.

For the Sake of the Call, which appeared in stores the very last week of December 1990, was Steven Curtis Chapman's first classic album. By this reviewer's estimation, it's still his third best album; only Signs of Life (1996) and Speechless (1999) surpass it, although Heaven in the Real World (1994) and The Music of Christmas (1995) run neck-and-neck with it. And almost seventeen years later, it's still Chapman's most serious album -- an intense examination of what truly constitutes discipleship to Jesus Christ.
Chapman had been building up to this subject for several years. Real Life Conversations (1988) deals heavily with the Christian's position in Christ and the relationship between faith and works in the believer's life. (Interestingly enough, that album ... Read More:

Ralph Stanley is from a world seldom heard from these days in commercially successful recordings. This music has an earthy, deeply Southern heart--from the poor, dirt farmer South--not entirely possible to imitate, though very enjoyable facsimiles of the feel of it have been made in successful recordings by The Byrds, The Band, The Grateful Dead and others, who nonetheless always sound a bit like they're imitating something when they do it.
This is the real thing. The vocals, harmonies, instrumentals (Curly Ray Cline's fiddle, in particular) have a rough, astringent, yet sweet twang that has been polished and cleaned by performers such as Alison Krauss, to rather different if also very fine effect. It's hard to imagine that this sound could come from anyone who didn't ... Read More:

A lot of the performances are horrid, some of the arrangements are insipid. There ended up being about 30 tunes and songs here that were of interest--and over 100 that I'll never listen to again. In many ways, it's a beautifully packaged vanity project of limited interest musically.
