For anyone thinking of buying this album, this is very funny. If your a first time lister of his comedy or a regular listener, this album is worth the price. If you like this one, try any of his other works.

sparse, haunting, and poignant-- Willie Nelson's THE RED HEADED STRANGER is all this and more...with the economy of a Chekov short story, Willie and his band tell a tale of sin, death, and redemption in the mystical and mythic West..."Hands on the Wheel" breaks my heart every time....

I love Brad Paisley but didn't enjoy 5th Gear as much as I thought I would. I couldn't wait for the cd's release although I didn't enjoy the single "Ticks." I also did not like the single "Online" although I love "Letter to Me." I guess that's the problem with this album; its very hit or miss and I was expecting more from the lyrical content. I enjoy every other song it seems like and thus, I see this album as being average. While Brad's vocie is great to listen to, I need more than that and don't think this album stands up to "Time Well Wasted" or "Mud on the Tires."

The 1960s had their share of sad and wistful hits, and Joni Mitchell was behind more than a few. "Both Sides Now" and "The Circle Game" were coffehouse favorites well into the 70s, when folk rock was fading and mindless disco was taking over the AM and FM airwaves. But even in the post-modern world of the early 21st century, Joni's sweet, sad sounds still satisfy. "Hits," a compendium of Joni's most popular music, gives us the exquisitly-produced and syncopated big hits like "Help Me" and "Free Man in Paris" but a few lesser-known work as well. "Hits" covers the peak of Joni's career and stays firmly on the pavement, but even the casual listener will appreciate the strength of her melodies, the complexity of her arrangements and the bittersweet ... George Carlin was one of those people whose influence I didn't come to realize was so profound until after I had to come to grips with his passing. I hadn't played the albums collected on this 2CD set in years, but hearing them again brought back a flood of memories...and laughter.
Let's face it, nothing pushes product like an artist's death, and for a lot of folks there may be the temptation to assuage your grief by spending a lot of money trying to recapture what is lost...our youth for example. "Classic Gold" is the cream of Carlin at the right price. You can't go wrong having copies of "FM & AM," "Class Clown," and "Occupation Foole" in your CD collection, always at hand when you're in the mood to hear the "Seven Words You Can ... Read More:
K.D.Lang, a woman whose voice I regard as one of the greatest in music, takes to covering songs from her homeland, Canada. Not really being that familiar with Canadian music [I'd be surprised if I could name 50 Canadian songs-though listening to this album would nudge me close to that mark], I can't say how well or otherwise she has chosen her songs. Perhaps there are better songs she could have covered? In any case, she delivers a consistently mellow and laid-back treatment of the songs she sings here.
There are some artists she honours by covering two of their tracks: Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen and Jane Sibery. Of the little I've heard of Joni Mitchell, I'd have to say that I would rather have heard "Both sides ... Read More:

I only knew a few Sara Evans songs, so I was pleasantly surprised by how good she is, and how good this Greatest Hits collection is. I'd recommend this CD to any lover of country music.
Release Date February 15, 1994
I've read some very well thought out and critical comments for other albums on here that speak of the artists talents, shortcomings, etc. This isn't one of those, mine is all about emotion. Listening to this album is almost a rapturous experience for me. This music, the voice, the lyrics...they reach so very deep into me and stir otherwise sleeping feelings of love, desire, fear, loss and the unique pleasure of merciful solitude.

Over the past year, The National have quickly become one of my favorite bands. I was very excited about this film and EP and was not disappointed. The Virginia EP included b-sides and demos from Boxer, which were very enjoyable. The film, however, may not be enjoyed by everyone. It seems more like an art film than a documentary, which was fine with me. If you like David Lynch movies, you will like A Skin, A Night.

Anthology 2 is worth every penny, especially because of the wonderful "Real Love" and hilarious "You Know My Name," though I prefer the final version on the B side of "Let It Be." Am I the only one who appreciates the incredible Lennon and McCartney vocals in the beginning of the latter? Singing near the top of their ranges, they have an otherworldly quality that is unmatched in pop music. They don't even sound human! Lennon and McCartney were truly a match made in Heaven.
