Now I never liked country till I heard Garth Brooks "The Thunder Rolls" song and I thought that was amazing till I heard this album from Tim McGraw...he blew my one fave country song to smitherines with an awesome display of what country should be...now I will not claim to be a huge country music fan nor pretend I know whats hot or not ....but this album takes you everywhere on the emotional map...

My wife and I were pleasantly suprised by this classy and robust work. I only read a review but took a chance and happy I did. Mellow but strong and not something you will ever hear on a radio station. A sophisticated move up and change of pace from good old R&R. Good with dinner, a drink or driving down the road.

I didn't think that I would love this CD, but it really surprised me.
I really love the song "Greyhound Bound for Nowhere". Her voice just captures you. Amazing.

Last of the Good Guys

Last of The Good Guys is a great example of what today's country artists should be about. The lyrics are filled with emotion, and imagery while being delivered in beautiful three part harmony. I'm hard pressed to find a favorite song on this CD, but if I had to choose 3 they would be: "Shameless" "Life" and "Junkie".

It took a long while to come around to The Band though I'm glad I finally did. See I just didn't get what all the fuss was about. I always loved their work with Bob Dylan but when ever I heard them on their own I was just turned off, so I decided to give it another chance and bought Music From Big Pink. Needless to say it changed my mind. It wasn't the nice soulful vocals, or Robertson's great guitar work. It was the sound of the band as a whole; as they are truly a sum of their parts. But honestly the organ work was what really had me hooked. I don't think I have ever heard a better organ player. Such resonance and heart in his playing.

'American IV: The Man Comes Around' is easily one of Johnny Cash's best records. Cash died in 2003, and this came out around the time of his death. But it's a true masterpiece. Read on.

Here, Johnny covers everything, from Nine Inch Nails' 'Hurt' to Hank Williams' 'I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry' to Depeche Mode's 'Personal Jesus' to Simon & Garfunkel's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water.' He also covers an Eagles song ('Desperado') and a country music standard ('Streets of Laredo') here as well.

But man, can Johnny sing! In his early seventies when this was recorded, Johnny proves his voice is every bit as good as it was thirty years before. It's more raspy and deeper, sure, but it's just as good.
