Old Crow Medicine Show has taken bluegrass, rock and country music and, IMO, fused it into some real good-time music. While the Album is strong throughout, "Wagon Wheel" is what I would call their signature song. It's catchy and will appeal to anybody who loves lively music and who does not have a built in bias against vocals with a twang. I've seen them live and they were great. While their second CD does not have a song as catchy as "Wagon Wheel", I think OCMS's second album is more consistent throughout than this CD.

I am thrilled with the CD. I play the piano and purchased the sheet music to "Remember When". I decided to search the internet for the CD so that I could play the piano along with the CD. I have other sheet music that I have purchased CDs to play along with it.

Released the year I was born, 1963, "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" became the album which best represents a turbulent time in America. Put this cd on, for those of us who spent at least a part of our lives in those stormy years, the album evokes a lot of memories, and a lot of feelings, particularly about the America we could've become before Kennedy fell, before Viet Nam, before King fell, before we lost our innocense.

The first track "Blowin' in the Wind" became the anthem of the day, redone and popularized by Peter, Paul, and Mary. Yet the original carries such weight that did not carry over. It seems like each and everyday Ben Harper's music continues to grow on me. I have known his music for a decade but didn't really become a fan until a couple of years ago. He is trully one of the most creative artists of his time. He can go from rock, soul, funk, R&B, gospal, and even bluegrass over a course of an album and it never sounds forced or chessy.
Lifeline is a fantastic album. "Into the Colors" is a great first single and the album is packed with great tracks throuhout. If you are a Ben Harper fan then you will not be disappointed with this purchase. This is one of the best albums in the music industry over the past few years.
