"Live at Blues Alley" is a nice blues CD. Even the moaning and groaning that is done in blues songs sounds good, because it's done by Eva Cassidy, who has a rich, sweet voice.

The quality of the CD is good. It was recorded live, but there are no extraneous sounds, other than applause.

The High Kings are a fantastic group of singers that sing beautiful Irish ballads. They are Darren Holden, Martin Furey, Finbarr Clancy and Brian Dunphy. Furey, Clancy and Dunphy all hail from families who have been known for years for their great Irish singing. Holden received rave reviews for his performance on Broadway as Billy Joel's Pianoman! If you love traditional Irish music this dvd is for you. It's great!

this is a great album for what it is and it is a career spanning compilation and as such is meant to include the finest tracks and is meant to give a sampler of an artist work which it does exceptionally well. no it doesn't have all his best tracks and yes everybody has their little probelems,but for those uniniated or just starting out with a minimal dylan collection its a great starter i guarantee you'll come back too time and again.

I just love this album. Damien Rice brings storytelling back to the alternative music scene. His warm and sultry voice is reminiscent of Indian singer Tanita Tikarum, only with a slightly more positive bent to the lyrics. The songs have a degree of continuity which makes whole album listening a pleasure. It is filled with unexpected and delightful interjections from female vocalists. The ample use of strings makes O both easy listening and the triumph of a contempory balladeir.

I have always listened attentively whenever a selection by this very talented musican came over the radio; however, it wasn't until I heard Cassidy's redition of Paul Simon's "Kathy's Song" on a folk music station that I finally bought a the CD that included that song. Cassidy's interpretation of a wide range of genres on this CD---from Irish folk ballad to pop to blues---is truly phenomenal and her delivery of all of them is as smooth as silk. That cancer took her young life is truly tragic, but her memory and angelic voice lives on in these beautiful songs.

I bought the original version in '94 and have made this part of my permanent often-listened collection. This "is" by far, one of the very best produced albums in music history. Sarah made Marchand's job easy by writing such superior music. This is an etherealistly-organized, mayhemic venture of the mind, heart and soul of Ms. McLachlan. I have never heard a song like Fear that brings to you the subtle realization of personal ownership in overcoming a tragedy in a relationship. The song Fumbling is an epic endeavor that offers a fantastic sense of personal accomplishment. And the solo version of Possession takes you to yet another place that many of us never get to experience, and if you ever have, you are definitely on cue when what she has to deliver. ... Eva Cassidy is one of those people who managed to get discovered for great talent even without the help of American Idol. And I am so glad, because her voice remained so true, clear and wonderful that she produced this and a number of other really wonderful albums before her untimely death.

She has the kind of voice that makes you realize that only a very select few of singers really (no, really) can sing. These are all covers, and just simply wonderful, unique, beautiful, fantastic music.

I listen to her albums when I want something smooth, something sweet, something unique, and something great. It's not "easy listening", or "oldies"; it's great music redone in a new and uniquely fresh way.

This is amongst Pat Metheny's finest releases to date. To begin with, this trio is amazing, and I would go as far as to say that it's my favorite Metheny trio.

Antonio Sanchez's drumming perfectly contemplates Metheny's fluid, beautiful, and deeply articulate post-bop phrasing with such artful cleverness. He plays quietly, hanging in the background to allow Metheny to have his say, while making perfect elaborations with heavy cymbal use, but also not being afraid to speak up when the time is right, and exploding into drumming reminiscent of hard-bop Art Blakey.
