It contains tracks mostly from the late 1960s and early '70s (whereas the entire series goes from the 1960s through the '90s).

Of course there's nothing to say about the music, which is simply excellent. Motown was really the cream of the crop, and we can't say the same thing of many of the R&B artists of today... sorry. But the lenght doesn't exceed 34 minutes. The tracks from this period were kinda short (only 2 of them exceed 3 min) so adding 10 songs would have been a wise thing.
Still, it's an irresistible collection, and the only thing you will feel like doing when the cd fades, is playing the whole cd again.

Well I wanted this album so bad so I brought it. It was a great CD. The only thing I didn't like was the Marvin Gaye song because it was rap and not Marvin Gaye. You can't name it totally R&B and have Erik Sermon rapping all over a Marvin Gaye song. I'm just tired of seeing rappers all over these R&B songs (new and old) enough already. This album was good so I gave the album four stars because of the one rap song that messed up the whole flow of the album.

Each selection is an attempt to do Marvin justice. But whom could really cover Marvin. You had to be in his soul and one artist got it right, track 12 by Kenny Latimore. Check it out. I applaud all artist on this rare must have collection of some of Marvin's hits. Great job!

This is my second copy. I purchased my first in 1996 when I was going through a tough divorce and feeling very bad about myself. The music in this CD gave me hope and a new perspective on life. I am now happily married to a wonderful man, feel good about myself and who I have come to be. Although this album didn't do it all, it certainly helped. Just an excellant album for women at whatever stage in their life.
