Yes that's a bold statement but think about it. The movie The Commitments was about a group singing some of the greatest R & B/Motown songs of all time.

Here you get those all those fantastic song on one CD, except instead of covers of the originals, you get the originals-- sung by the greats themselves. Truly Incredible...

I am so glad I purchased this cd. There were a couple of titles on this cd that I could not find anywhere else. The cd contains some of my absolute favorite recordings. It is a great value for the price. Listening to this cd brougtht back many fond and treasured memories. I highly recommend this cd.

This is my first STB purchase and I do not profess to be a connoisseur in reggae music. However, if it was not for the first track, She's Royal, I would have returned the CD. Smart move in including that song. Otherwise, the CD would probably stay on the shelf.

Just finished listening to 1968. 6 discs , 144 songs , 6 hours , 47 minutes and 28 seconds. We are now at 43 discs , 1,106 songs , over 50 hours for volumes 1-8 , with four more to go. If you've read the other reviews , you know how impressed I am with this whole series. EVERY Motown single (A & B side), from each year 1959-1972 (the Detroit years), being released in 12 lovingly-assembled cd box sets, to be completed by 2009 (the 50th anniversary of Motown). You'll hear old faves as well as things you never heard before....but be forewarned , once you hear one set , you will want to hear it all. 1968 is a great place to start.Go ahead, PUT THIS IN YOUR CART!!!

The first and best of Rhino's "Disco Years" compilations. "Turn the Beat Around" offers 16 dance tracks ranging from Van McCoy's "The Hustle" to The Trammps' "Disco Inferno." Notable artists include KC & The Sunshine Band, Rose Royce and Thelma Houston. All that's missing are Donna Summer and Chic (both featured in later Rhino volumes). Though a memorable time capsule, you should look elsewhere for extended club mixes - preferably Rebound's excellent "Disco Nights" series.

Mo' Money: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

This soundtrack brings back memories of when I first went to college. It was often compared to the Boomerang soundtrack which came out at the same time. I enjoyed both soundtracks but I tend to favor this one a bit more (though as far as the movies go, I actually like Boomerang better).

The other reviews have already covered the songs so let me end this by saying that if you want to know what R & B/Hip-Hop in the early 90's was like, this is a good place to check it out!

This album has alot of good beat for Baby Got Back, Finally, Deeper And Deeper, Im Too Sexy, Jump Around, Real Love and the rest. I have this album when I first saw this album at the mall in 1993. I never stop loving this album! Its been 14 years and I never get tired of listening this album!!
