A Tribute to the Beast

Release Date April 30, 2002
This album proves why Iron Maiden is the Beast - because of best songs. But, after hearing around 200 of their songs a thousand times, it starts to get boring to hear the same style over and over again. Now we have some huge hits in a new, more modern and powerful interpretations. It's good for Iron Maiden to keep the spirit alive, and good for the small bands to get their names heard.

In my opinion, Cradle Of Filth did an awesome cover of Hallowed Be Thy Name - adding more power and horror to the song. The second riff is so powerful now that it's beyond comprehension. Dani Filth's best performance, I guess his vocal chords surgery had a meaning afterall.

Children Of Bodom added clarity, power, and speed to Aces High, a good ... Read More:

Scream Forth Blasphemy: A Tribute to Morbid Angel

Release Date November 14, 2000
This tribute pays homage to the first fine death metal band to get signed to a major label. There is not one song i dont like, although i was kinda disappointed with Mystifier's "Chapel of Ghouls" not thats it bad because its certainly good, i just had higher expectations. anywayz This album is really good, my fav tracks would probaly have to be the Draconis, Black Witchery, and Infamy tracks. Excellent covers. Excellent cd. If you like morbid angel you should be used to death metal vocals so buy this now. Even as one reviewer said, "this cd might turn you into a morbid angel fan if your not."

OK I may not like all the songs on the album but I still give all my Monster albums 5 stars.
your going to konw all the songs if you ever had a radio inthe 80s\90s.
I listen to them ALL over and over and over!
I am a fan of most 80s music so I dont mind the few oddballs they through in that may not fit for others. IT is all 80s, all music that defined a generation of music.
If you were a true metal head you may not be thrilled, but if you were just a fan of 80s music you will be.

Power Ballads

by: Various Artists

Release Date October 08, 2003
For those of us who grew up in the '80's, jammin' to Twisted Sister, Motley, Bon Jovi, and Poison, and are NOT ashamed to admit it, this CD fits the bill. Who among us doesn't remember sitting arm in arm with our significant other, making out to "Caught up in You" or "Ballad of Jayne"? I personally miss those days of BIG ballads and even BIGGER hair. As they say, if I have to explain, you'll never understand. This compilation is by no means comprehensive, but it is a small reminder of the glory that was 80's heavy metal. And hey, THEY have THEIR music, why can't WE have OURS. METAL HEADS UNITE! (and for the price, what have you got to lose?!)
List Price: $7.98
CD-Charts Price: $6.98

Song Of The Silent Land

CD-Charts > Music > Compilations
by: Various Artists

Release Date September 07, 2004
"Song of the Silent Land" is a Constellation Record's first compilation which features unreleased (except one) songs by each of the label's artists. The album is very eclectic and ranges from beautiful post-rock by Constellation's most popular bands like Godspeed You! Black Emperor to folk music like Sofa's "String of Lights" (and I'm not usually much of a fan of folk, but these songs are excellent) to simply experimental music like Fly Pan Am's catchy "Tres Tres 'Avant'." This compilation is sure to satisfy any fans of the record label or serve as an introduction to the curious for the lesser-known musicians (however, the DMST and ASMZ songs are not very good representations of the bands). Overall, this is a solid and outstanding compilation album from Constellation ... Read More:

Metal for Muthas, Vol. 2

CD-Charts > Music > Compilations
by: Various Artists

Release Date June 11, 2002
Released in 1980, the original Metal for Muthas, Vol. 1 compilation was a key album for the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement, featuring bands like Iron Maiden, Samson, and Praying Mantis and introducing Angel Witch to the world. The follow up album, appropriately titled Metal for Muthas Volume II, featured lesser-known NWOBHM acts and was measurably less successful.

Still, the 2000 reissue of Metal for Muthas Volume II is well worth owning, particularly if you're a NWOBHM fan. It features 9 relatively unknown players from that era, including Easy Money (with Marc Storace of Krokus) and White Sprit (with Janick Gers of Iron Maiden). None of the bands on this compilation had the impact Iron Maiden or even Angel Witch did, but they are still worth checking ... Read More:

I bought this along with Mudvaynes 5.0. I was largely dissapointed. Not so much a metal cd, but random songs no one really enjoys.
