I just got back from his Tempe Improv show, and I must say that disappointment was the only way to describe the show. I am a regular attendee at the Improv and this show was a disaster. If you are a member of the sub-100 IQ crowd; which there seemed to be many in attendance, then this show may have been funny to you. If you are a person of intellect then by all means avoid this comic like the plague as he has nothing to offer. The level of sophistication displayed by this comedian could only be described as pathetic. He continually made references to common occurrences and then explained the outcome for the audience. If you need to be spoon fed humor, then please come and get your fill. Albeit, I do not have an opinion against gay humor, ... Read More:

The first Mother's album was a huge step outside the normal rock and roll of the mid sixties, introducing it's audience to the Psychodelic era. This album is historic if nothing else. The music is an early Frank Zappa with the current culture influence, it sounds nothing like the later Frank and has rough edges.

I'm giving this one a "resentful" five stars because I see that Volume One is currently out of print, practically forcing the consumer to purchase Volume Two. Stafford herself assembled these compilations late in her career out of materials from the three albums the Edwards recorded in the '50s, '60s, and '70s. Volume 2 has a couple of additional tracks and songs that will be more familiar to those familiar with the American Songbook. But nothing is quite as funny as "Take the A Train" or the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive" from Volume One. (Some of the comedy of "Tiptoe Through the Tulips," from Volume Two, has been undermined by Tiny Tim's later version of the tune.)
As musical send-ups these tracks surpass Spike Jones and P.D.Q. Bach (easily), ... Read More:

This disk was my introduction to Carlin and I was hooked. Full of classic hilarious lines "Tonight's forecast ... Dark," "Not anymore Monty" and introduced a lot of things our mothers would say. This was way before he became over political in his act and the majority of the material is gut-wrenching belly laugh humor at its best! George is definately the best comic genious of our time!

The "NPR Driveway Moments All About Animals" is really enjoyable. It is insightful and engaging. It made me remember all the wonderful animals I enjoyed as a child growing up on a farm. Thanks NPR!

This is, hands down, one of the most powerful comedic performances ever. I was never a fan of the sitcom that this spawned, but Christopher Titus has my respect nonetheless.
I have been watching the same burned, reproduced, scratched, crapped out copy of this performance for FAR too long...I will purchase the audio copy, because I can see it all in my head, but for the person hearing it for the first time, so much is lost in not seeing Titus' facial expressions! Amazing timing, amazing personality, fantastic performance.
I can say this, which I have said many times in jest, in all seriousness: I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me.
Well done, indeed.

You just about have to be from Mississippi (or the surrounding areas) to really appreciate Jerry. I don't live there any more, but it sure reminds me of people that I knew. I once had a female student with the last name of Ledbetter, and she sure matches up well with the Ledbetters that Jerry describes. This is great family entertainment. No foul language, just good funny stories that probably happened.

Lewis Black proves he is probably the best stand-up comic out today! His humor is funny and hits home on everything from airport security to Starbucks. His powerful energy is very apparent in his delivery! He is the true successor to George Carlin!
