Just Another Band From LA comes near the end of the Mothers of Invention's existance and although Frank Zappa went on to related musical journeys the Mothers were the best. This is an outstanding cd if you love the weird and unusual....

Even worse is some funny stuff. He pushes the limits with the parodies and his outfit for the cover. I personality will own his whole collection sooner or later. For those who love a good spin off of songs, buy his albums and be prepared to laugh so hard bust a gut at times. Thanks and enjoy his music.

When George Carlin passed away, I realized how much I always loved all his 'stuff' and wondered why I did't have any of it. This is the first one I just bought, and I will eventually buy everything. I laughed all the way to work listening to George and remembering.

The additional, unexpected tracks of music are fun. Such as a foxtrot and the stipclub music scene from the film. Dated in a charmingly retro way. The affair of it's day (young man-olderwoman)is perhaps even more relevent or comon today. The tongue-in-cheek humor of the title track ,Mrs. Robinson, is kinda campy and fun. The folk-rock style from the eras well known artists is easy on the ear and to sing along with as one drives etc. Overall I got more than I thought I'd get due to the tracks from the film that I hadn't expected. It's a fun collection of music.

Lounge Against The Machine is an instant classic! That should come as no surprise given the vocal stylings of Mr. Richard Cheese! He is truly the voice of a generation. To take the selected songs and perform them in the lounge-style is fantastic! This is a must have for any CD collection!!!

Peoria,Illinois-born Richard Pryor delivers another hilarious comedy routine filled with profanity of course. Unbelievably, one of the audience members was Rev. Jesse Jackson. Does Pryor mention the N-word? Of course,he does. Pryor, who followed in the footsteps back in the 1960's of another comedian three years his senior,Bill Cosby, influenced another trashmouthed comedian years later,Eddie Murphy. Both Pryor and Murphy influenced other trashmouthed black comedians such as Chris Rock and Dave Chapelle. Cosby himself, has always detested the use of profanity. Instead of the so-called profane words rhyming with "luck" and "spit",Cosby would instead say "filth, foul, filth". It may have happened to Pryor,Rock and Chapelle, but Cosby did once chastise Murphy on the phone ... Read More:

I'm a huge Ween fan and love most everything they do. It was apparent from the outset with "La Cucaracha" that this album was going to be a grower. Unfortunately, it really hasn't grown on me the way I thought it would, and as a result, I now think it really isn't a very strong release.
The album starts fine with "Fiesta", a wacky Mexican-themed instrumental. But then comes the biggest flaw with the album in my eyes. Songs 2 and 3 on a record should definitely establish the tone. For me, "Blue Balloon" and "Friends" could be the flimsiest 2 and 3 songs ever on a record, and that is saying a lot. A lot of folks like "Blue Balloon" but I just don't get it. I find it to be a very boring song. "Friends" is a techno rave up unlike anything Ween ... Read More:

Basically a filmed concert. Interrupted by a few sketches. The whole idea of Spinal Tap is to paraphrase the rock-industry. Gently dressed as irony and general retardedness. The film was good. The lyrics are still very good (don't we just love sublime rock poetry?) but we have seen it before and better. The sketches are still quite good but to have the songs performed, in all seriousness, somehow detracts the whole concept. I'm already a fan but this one won't win any new converts. Although I did get a good laugh at the "right reason" for having a reunion concert.
