Frank Zappa and his friends have produced a cornucopia of CDs and I am sure his heirs hope you collect them all. I personally 'enjoyed" "We're Only In It for the Money." With this CD, "Let's make the water turn black," "Trouble Every Day," and perhaps "Don't eat the yellow snow" were entertaining. And, there is much more. So, if you prefer the esoteric Zappa, be prepared to have a good time.

This DVD had me rolling. Everyone who has watched it with me agreed it is the funniest stand up around. You will not be disappointed with this purchase. I have watched it about a dozen times and still laugh histarically everytime I watch it!

From the start of Nelson Riddle's "Theme from Route 66" this album jumps out @ the listener, with this being easily one of the BEST TV themes ever produced, very catchy and very cool, more reminiscent of just a hip lounge piece and is perfect to introduce this package. John Buzon's "Caravan" is another fun spin on what is one of the several out there of this great tune, this one being played a bit like a rhumba! Line Renaud's "Sexe" is nothing special but it's very slick and is a little like something that would have come from the cavern clubs during the beat era. I can't say enough about Lou Busch's jazzy "Cool", adapted from the already jazz-cool Bernstein musical "West Side Story". For all of the seasons i've listened to, and i admit, i'm not a big fan of the show but rather, a music critic and write a music column, i found this season's list to be the most interesting. Which is NOT to say that there are not other songs to be found on other seasons (so please, scope them out, because songs like "If You Leave" is truly worthwhile).

Still, you can't beat the list here - there is so much good, and so much that, at the time (and this is important to remember) was new (or new to the public; yes, you may have known it, just as i may have known it but i would guess that most viewers did not know Jet or Propellerheads by then, so you have to credit the OC with bringing these groups to the forefront).

First, a bit of trivia. Cal Schenkl once told me that the fabulous Burnt Weeie Sandwich album cover was actually originally commissioned for an Eric Dolphy release. Now that IS interesting considering that Dolphy was one of Zappa's early influences. Ok. On with the review.

Burnt Weenie Sandwich along with Weasels Ripped My Flesh were put together by Zappa shortly after he called the band out to his house in Laurel Canyon to announce he was disbanding The Mothers. Both releases are definitely worth owning. Both would have been "assembled" during the period Zappa was working on Hot Rats. No Respect

Rodney Dangerfield was a very gifted comedian. There is no one who can take his place.

This cd is one of his best. The laughs start at once and don't end until he finally says "Sorry people shows over!" The crowd was ,(me included) left begging for more. He does a great encore, and even tangles with hecklers and fields questions from the audience, all with his brilliant humor, snappy timing and lightning fast comebacks.

I can never get enough Rodney. If you are new to him, this would make for an excellent introduction.

He will be missed!
