And I Love You So/It's Impossible is a great CD that has all the tracks from two of Perry Como's record albums entitled And I Love You So and It's Impossible. The sound quality is excellent; and Perry's mature voice really sounds fine, too. The artwork is also impressive.
The CD starts off with Perry crooning his best on "And I Love You So." This tune features Perry front and center as he showcases his incredible set of pipes. The musical arrangement is lush and it's the perfect accompaniment to Perry's singing. "And I Love You So" makes a beautiful beginning to this album. "Killing Me Softly With Her Song" is changed from "Killing Me Softly With His Song;" and Perry aces this like the master he always was. The guitars in the arrangement ... Read More:

Nothing will ever replace "In the Wee Small Hours" as my favorite Sinatra (if not my all time favorite recording), this one scores very high on the scale. I prefer the quiet, sad songs that Sinatra did so well after a failed love affair. I play them to go to sleep at night (although I've been married for 50 years & am still happy I married my husband). But, if you like wonderfully melodic and painfully sincere recordings, first buy "Hours" and then order "Nice 'n' Easy". You will love them.

I first came across the voice of Ella Fitzgerald via the 1988 movie Torch Song Trilogy. The movie was eye opening and life changing for me on so many levels. In a way, although of course I was unaware of it at the time, it was also a glimpse into my future. I wept for hours afterwards even though I didn't fully realise what I was weeping about. If only I knew then what I know now.
Anyway, Ella's "This Time The Dream's On Me" was used more than once during the course of the film and it also accompanied the closing credits. I fell in love with the song immediately. I was out searching for the soundtrack soon after but to my dismay when I eventually found it, the song was not listed. (I learned later that legal complications meant that the song couldn't be included). ... Read More:

Think about it, is there anyone in the entertainment business today that can even remotely compare to this amazing talent? This multi-talented man could simply do it all. On top of being an amazing singer and dancer, he was an actor, comedian, impressionist, and believe it or not a multi-talented instrumentalist (he played the drums, trumpet and vibraphone). There was nothing Sammy couldn't do.
The man was simply adored by all. Although small in stature, he was a giant among men. He was both confident and humble at the same time. He could be cocky one moment, and then turn around and be totally self-effacing the next. There was something so engaging about him, so honest, and open. This is why we love his music so much - because he makes you believe that every word ... Read More:

Is it possible that no one has mentioned MY favorite song? How entrancing is that charming waltz rhythm in TEN CENTS A DANCE? The pace is never hurried and you can almost feel the stumbling partner's feet on your toes. More importantly, this song is perhaps the most melancholy tune since the days of Robert Schumann's lieder in the 19th century. When Miss Fitzgerald finally descends into the depths of her range to grab the last note, you may also feel some of the loneliness that was a recuring motif in her career.

Released in 1991, The Prince of Tides was a beautifully made film loved by audiences and critics alike. It became a huge hit, got nominated for many Academy Awards (and created controversy for not nominating Barbra Streisand for best director), and cemented Streisand's status as a credible film maker. However, the praise cannot be directed to the soundtrack.
The score, which sounds great in the film, and complements the fantastic imagery, just does not stand well on its own here. Most of it is very quiet, and unless the volume is turned up high on the CD player, you will strain to hear it. The only track of instrumental music worth listening to is the "Love Montage," which helps you recall some of the images distinctly.
But truth be told, most people who buy the soundtrack ... Read More:
